📍Let this sink in—a world leading virologist @RickABright who has studied H5N1 bird flu says he is pausing all his milk consumption until he sees proof from both FDA & USDA that pasteurized milk is safe to drink. Pausing milk because of his concern over lack of transparent data.

Why are scientists pausing milk intake? Because there still isn’t enough data on safety of pasteurized milk. There has been data on other viruses in the past that survive pasteurization. See detailed thread 🧵 below.

3) also avoid raw and undercooked eggs for now just to be safe…

4) for those who didn’t dive into the thread 🧵 inside post #2 about certain viruses surviving pasteurization… I’m just gonna leave this here… please read the full thread.

5) for those who really don’t like to read a full thread (cmon folks), just read this from FDA website.

6) Gosh… 38% of all milk sampled in Ohio is positive for H5N1. Ohio is not even an epicenter state. Milk supply is nationwide.

7) good reminder that the USDA is a commerce agency dedicated to prioritizing agriculture, not a public health priority agency. “Milk builds strong” bones claim doesn’t hold up in the newest study on milk and hip fracture once you look and summarize all the data. ~yours truly 👇

8) I have never been paid by big Ag or any dairy🥛 orgs. They probably hate my guts after all the dairy studies I’ve published debunking dairy-health claims. I know dairy farming risks because I helped work on dairy farms as a kid growing up in rural PA.

9) dairy farmers at a serious risk. Also don’t forget many family dairy farms have kids working on the farm milking the cows each day. Kids on such family dairy farms are seriously in danger!! I cannot emphasize this enough!

10) Basically dairy farming is now the highest bird flu exposure risk population of workers… anyone who has worked on a commercial dairy farm knows the sheer amounts of milk spillage and milk aerosolized by high pressure sprayers— Without masks & googles, you cannot avoid it!

11) NYtimes is really weird lately in reporting H5N1.

12) can big Ag dairy farms please stop feeding our cattle feed made from poultry poop please??

13) This signal from cats falling rapidly ill with neurological symptoms is very worrisome. 3 new infected cats. But the prior 3 cats have already all died rapidly.

14) personally, I would not feed any cats or dogs cow milk that is unpasteurized. Remember that dogs and cats have the specific avian flu receptors. Dogs are also susceptible and can be hosts too.

15) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that its nationwide survey of retail milk has found remnants of H5N1 avian flu viruses in one in five samples, with the highest concentrations in regions where outbreaks in dairy cattle have been reported.
