🇬🇧 After the UK elections was announced to take place on July 4, some of you probably want to know a bit more about the favourite to win, Sir Keir Starmer.

THREAD 👇 (1/15)

Keir Starmer attended Reigate Grammar School, a state school that became private during his time there. He went on to become a barrister specialized in human rights. In 2008 he became the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

In 2011, Starmer was asked by a human rights group and law firm to issue an arrest warrant for ex Israeli FM Tzipi Livni over alleged war crimes.

2 days later, he blocked the arrest application, citing a Foreign Office decision to grant her visit “special mission” status.

Livni was in the war cabinet during the 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead. A UN report stated Israel committed serious international law violations, killing about 1,400 Palestinians, including 333 children, targeting civilians, industrial sites, and water installations.

Keir Starmer received a knighthood in 2014 for his services to law and criminal justice. He was knighted in recognition of his work as DPP and Head of the CPS. He entered politics in 2015 when he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Holborn and St Pancras.

In 2017, Starmer joined the Trilateral Commission, a group linked to the CIA, that was founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller. The Commission describes itself as a global membership organization aimed at addressing the world's toughest problems, with off-the-record meetings.

He joined whilst being Shadow Secretary for then Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn. James Schneider, Corbyn’s ex-spokesman, said "Starmer didn’t inform us that he was joining the Trilateral Commission while serving in the shadow cabinet. If he had, we would have put a stop to it."

Labour accused ex CIA Head Mike Pompeo of trying to block Corbyn from becoming PM in the 2019 elections. Then US Secretary of State Pompeo was secretly recorded saying he'd "push back" against Corbyn. He also suggested intervention before Corbyn could become PM.

Pro Palestinian Corbyn felt the full force of the mainstream media in 2019 with accusations of "anti-Semitism" against him. Labour suffered a poor performance at the 2019 elections and Corbyn stepped down as leader in 2020. Keir Starmer was elected to replace him.

He entered as new labour leader in April 2020. Here he is in July 2020, with then US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Starmer, a supporter of Zionism, was brought up "Church of England, loosely." His wife, who is of Jewish descent, has family members in Tel Aviv. After getting into power, Starmer promised to rid the "stain" of anti-semitism on the Labour party.

He's also a member of Labour Friends of Israel. 41 of Labour’s 197 sitting MPs have accepted money from the lobby, donations amounting to over £280,000, with Israel lobby groups paying for Labour MPs to visit Israel on over 50 occasions since 1999.

Oct 2023, in an interview with LBC, Starmer suggested Israel has a right to withold power and water from Gaza. A Labour spokesperson later denied he said that. Here's that part of the interview:

In Feb 2024, Sky News deleted a video in which Keir Starmer admitted speaking to Israel PM Isaac Herzog before the Lindsay Hoyle ceasefire vote scandal. @Lowkey0nline

Former Secretary of State Peter Mandelson is said to be advising Starmer. Mandelson was a close friend of Jeffrey Epstein. A thread by @MrLilburne on weirdo Mandelson 👇 (15/15)
