Introducing Zellular

A Consensus Layer & Sequencing Service that enables the development of dApps (zApps) as Replicated State Machines deployed on @eigenlayer, moving away from traditional Smart Contracts on Blockchains.

Flexibility in Development

Zellular will enable developing zApps using high-level programming languages such as JavaScript, Python & Go as well as low-level languages like Rust, C & C++. This makes it far easier and more accessible, helping onboard a wider range of developers.

Rapid Finality

Zellular achieves state finalization in under a second, over 12 times quicker than Solana, boosting both the efficiency of sequential actions and enhancing interoperability for faster, reliable cross-chain transactions.

Unlimited Throughput

Unlike traditional Blockchains, the Zellular architecture achieves Horizontal Scaling by hosting each zApp independently.

This setup enables unlimited system-wide throughput while each zApp can support more than 100k transactions per second.

Robust Interoperability

zApps use aggregated signatures to communicate with blockchains or other zApps, ensuring robust security and efficient verification processes.

Dynamic Security

zApps can hire the required level of security from @eigenlayer, specifying the amount of restaked ETH needed for their nodes, ensuring customized protection.

This flexibility allows balance between cost & security, tailoring transaction fees to fit exact needs.

Replicated State Machines

Zellular enables replicating centralized services across multiple nodes, creating a decentralized system that remains robust even if some nodes fail or act maliciously.

Consistent State Across Nodes

The Zellular Sequencer ensures all nodes receive and process user-signed requests in the exact same order, maintaining a consistent state across the network.

Byzantine Fault Tolerance

If the Sequencer node malfunctions, other nodes can challenge its actions. With enough agreement, the Sequencer's role seamlessly transfers to a new leader, ensuring continuous operation.

Signature-Based Authentication

With Zellular, making a Web2 app, Web3-ready is as simple as replacing username & password logins with signature-based authentication. This modification enables each node in the network to independently verify user requests.

Decentralized Explorer

Zellular Explorer allows for comprehensive tracking of transaction data across all zApps.

By implementing specific interfaces, zApps enable the Explorer to display detailed, app-specific transaction data, improving access to information and transparency.
