Umm… so this just showed up outside my work… I have no idea what to do and everyone I would call about it sleeps like normal people…
New development… it can climb people.
Ok… it tried to get into the mouse bait… so it’s inside now. It’s not very good at staying in its box.
Umm… it fell asleep on my shoulder…. What do I do??
Woke up to a lot of notifications. I’ve pulled the venmo link down because we should have more than enough covered for the vet. Thank you to everyone who chipped in. I think this kitten probably has a nice cat tree in its future.
Someone pointed out that I should condense this into one thread, so I'll post the separate updates starting here.
Vet appointment is later today. Not much to update on before that. Still super snuggly. Still lives in the bathroom. Pretty sure this picture was my first scolding for letting the food bowl be empty.
She is apparently around 6-7 weeks old. She has ear mites which we treated and she was also given dewormer. I was also given some basic cat raising info which was very helpful.
We picked up some toys and actual food and water bowls while we were out. Also got her some wet food and those gogurt looking treats that people keep talking about. But then I had to go into work. I’ll post pics of her setup tomorrow.
Question: It seems like she only eats when I’m in the room watching her. I put the scoop of kitten food in the bowl before I went into work and it looked untouched until I went to go check on her. Is this normal?
Here is the hail from yesterday’s shopping trip. Dandruff is a big fan of the tube treat.
Sampling her first wet food. She’s a fan.
And here is a Spike update. We see him here in his natural habitat. His answer to how many blankets he needs is “Yes”.
More exposure training today. Working on everyone being calm in the same space. Spike is starting to not just stare at Dandruff the whole time. I think that’s progress.
We did this for about 45 minutes then I put spikes leash on and we let Dandruff wander a bit I think it’s safe to say that she has no fear. Spike on the other hand hid behind me whenever she got close. We’ll probably continue with this pattern for a while until he gets less scared of her.
