Kursk operation day #4 - A thread
In this thread I will cover all events happening in the Kursk region. Russian sources confirm the attack on Rylsk, reportedly with cluster ammunition. High likely, a Russian column was completely destroyed.
Fighting continues near Sudzha and Korenevo, while Ukraine is pulling up equipment.
Did you miss the events yesterday? Check it out here
According to Russian sources, battles for Malaya Lokhna, which was taken by Ukrainian forces, have started as of this morning.
This is the location of Malaya Lokhna. Our assumption, contrary to some other accounts, seems to be correct that Ukrainian forces took control up to this village and that the all operations north of this were merely sabotage/reconaissance, or didn't lead to full control.
Reported as the aftermath of yesterday's strike on a Russian column near Oktyabr'skoe, east of Rylsk. Lots of destroyed vehicles and also dead Russian soldiers can be seen. These were reportedly reserves called up to be sent to the Kursk region.
Russian channels commenting on the attacked column near Oktyabr'skoe, east of Rylsk:
"Just watched a video from the scene. 13 military Urals and KAMAZ covered trucks with infantry. Many dead, some of the vehicles burned to the ground. It looks like the entire column was carrying infantry. They were armed, most likely a platoon per vehicle. 3-4 companies - an entire battalion was destroyed. Judging by the appearance of the column, about half were killed. This is one of the bloodiest and most massive strikes (most likely HIMARS) in the entire war."
More Russian channels now confirm that Russia has started an offensive to retake the captured part of the Kursk region.
"They started in the Sudzha district, but the situation is difficult. The enemy is in adjacent villages."

If Russians start asking these kinds of questions online, then you know what the situation is in the Kursk region.
"Does anyone know where the chief of artillery for Kursk region is?"
According to Russian sources fighting began in/near Sudzha.
"Aida Group (Akhmats), Special Forces and a number of other units of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation began measures to unblock the city."
In the Kursk region, a Ukrainian FPV drone struck a Russian Mi-8 helicopter in the tail section with a powerful fragmentation warhead. The helicopter's status is unknown, but it is no longer operational in the area.

The FSB has detained a 48-year-old resident of the Kursk village of Oktyabr'skoe for filming and transmitting a video of the aftermath of an AFU attack on a Russian convoy.
Jailed for the truth 🙃
The situation in the area of Kursk NPP is tense - several dozen kilometers away from the nuclear power plant there are hostilities, Kurchatov mayor Igor Korpunkov said.
"Russian servicemen are doing everything in their power to prevent these dreams of the enemy from coming true."

The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of units moving out to build up forces fighting the AFU in the Sudzhansky district, Kursk Region. Not very impressive.
More Russian reinforcements, joining from Kursk.
Reinforcements #2
According to Romanov, Snagost and Ol'govka, close to Korenevo are under AFU control. Ukrainian tanks are in Myrnyi, close to Sudzha. There are battles in Martynovka.
He funnily adds: "I remind you that according to Gerasimov's version, which he voiced to the Supreme Leader, the enemy's advance has been stopped. Trust only official sources and those who write that everything is under control."
Map update 1/2 from Kursk as of today 14:30 PM
➡️Despite RU claims, Lyubimovka area seems consolidated, with ongoing attacks towards Korenevo
➡️According to RU sources, Snagost' and Ol'govka are taken by the AFU. Other sources report that Russian counterattacks are happening near Snagost' but these are looking not very effective yet.
➡️Slightly decreased the area of AFU control towards Korenevo, as AFU does not look to be positions so deep (anymore).
It is very much possible that the unhabitated area between Ol'govka and Snagost' is under AFU control, but there is no evidence to back that up.
Map update 2/2 from Kursk as of today 14:30 PM
➡️Russian counterattacks or increasing presence near Martynovka, east of Sudzha and Malaya Lokhna are reported.
➡️According to Russians, Ukraine still hold a presence in Myrnyi north of Sudzha.
➡️The area of AFU control near Martynovka is slightly reduced, as the area further up north(east) seems only explored by DRG units.
➡️Clashes were reported this morning near Plekhovo, where Ukrainian tanks allegedly fired on the village. It is unclear whether this is an actual push or to defend against Russian attacks.
"Well, we are already in Russia, walking. Eh, Cossacks, let's go for a walk. Glory to Ukraine"
Statement by the Wagner Group Council of Commanders in connection with the situation in the Kursk region.
From the very first day, from the very first combat mission, we have had only one goal - to defend the interests of our homeland, to help Russia prosper, and to protect the Russian people. And we are ready to stand for it to the last drop of blood.
We declare the following:
Our forces are ready to come to the aid of the Motherland and deploy in combat formation at the first call. As it has always been.
According to Russian sources, Ukrainian forces are attacking Korenevo.
"The AFU in two groups totaling up to 40 people attacked the RF Armed Forces positions near Korenevo with the support of 4 tanks. Guys meet the enemy."
Missile danger in Kurchatov, Kursk region again. Traces of air defense are seen, and an explosion can be heard.

Soon changed into ATB 😗
Ukrainian forces tracking the movement of Z-forces in the Kursk region.
Semyon Pegov (Leg off / WarGonzo) is at it again. He reports from the Kursk region where he met Commander of the 1st TikTok Brigade Apti Alaudinov, whos' forces are reportedly involved in Russian counteroperations.
"Ahmad is strength, Russia is power, God is one, Allah Akbar, we will definitely win."
🙃
A video of Yevgeny Poddubnyy, a Z-war correspondent wounded near Sudzha, reaching a passing car and asking for a ride to the hospital, emerged. He was hospitalized later with severe injuries.
Russian sources about the situation in Kursk:
"From the farm Oleshnya in the direction of the village Kazachya Loknya stretches the enemy armor. They move in small groups. The enemy continues to pull up reserves. Contrary to what many turbo-patriots assured many channels that this was simply a "TikTok operation by the Ukrainian armed forces", the enemy is entrenching itself, trying to expand the bridgehead and consolidate.
Ukrainian forces near Sudzha in the Kursk region captured ammunition depots intended for a Russian offensive on the Sumy region, according to Serhii Bratchuk, Spokesperson for the Head of Odesa Oblast Military Administration.
Russian forces are redeploying units and reserves to the Sudzha area, pulling troops from multiple eastern directions, including those recently recovering from previous assaults. The 488th Motorized Rifle Regiment's mortar battery, previously on the Kupyansk front, is already in the Kursk region.
⚡️KHORNE group within the 116th Mechanized Brigade shared footage of them striking at a Russian column. Several direct hits can be seen while personnel flees te scene. Presumably the Kursk region.
The Kursk region is being decorated.
Captive Russian soldiers, Kursk region. Several hundreds have already been taken prisoner during the 4-day operation.
Another ~20 Russian servicemen surrendered.
Ukrainian forces in Dmitriukov, Kursk region east of Sudzha. We didn't have this one confirmed. Map will be adjusted!
Map updated near Sudzha, Kursk region. Dmitriukov under AFU control.
I very much doubt that there is any Russian presence left in Sudzha.
Rybar, Russian source, claims that a shootout is happening on the Kursk border with Ukraine. Of capture by Ukrainian forces, he said, there is no question yet.
Yes, now it is confirmed. Ukraine controls Sudzha. Like I expected, it seems like Russians have left.
More from decorated Lyubymivka. We already had confirmation about Ukrainian control of this town.
But now with the correct spelling.
The photo from Dmitriukov that was previously shared and was believed to be real, seems to show traces of forgery. Until further notice, we are reverting changes to the map. And we are investigating whether the photo is indeed not authentic.
A major fire has occurred in the Oktyabrsky district in the Kursk region, leaving residents of Volokno, Voroshnevo, and Pryamitsyno without electricity and experiencing water shortages. No official comments have been made yet.
It is reported that a substation is on fire in the Oktyabrsky district of the Kursk region.
Last night and this morning Russian channels were full of images of Russian reinforcements, and battle cries in which Russian units would make "mincemeat" of Ukrainian "occupiers," later in the day the mood of Russians is somewhat different. Counterattacks have not yet yielded anything.
"During the day the enemy continued pressure around the established bridgehead in the region, we agree with Roman Alekhin's assessment that the enemy is extremely far away from being "thrown back", despite the introduction of our approaching units. The enemy is pulling reserves (not all of them have been brought into the combat zone), and our UAV operators, missileers and aviators are hunting for them. Reserves are serious - another reserve brigade is reported."
Russian Post? Nova Poshta!
Kyberboroshno indeed confirms our assumption. The video was taken at the Gazpromgazoraspredeleniye Sudzha in the western part of Sudzha. Still, it is very likely that Russia has indeed left Sudzha completely.
Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat Special Forces, said that 'some leaders of the Ministry of Defense, as I understand it, deceived us so much, deceived us, deceived us, and it turned out that they deceived themselves..'
Oh the irony, love it.
Russian sources about the situation:
"For tonight. Fighting along the highways. Tough. In fact, the enemy is holding on to the road infrastructure."
All combined Russian reports taken into consideration, it doesn't look like Russia is able to drive back the AFU quickly, which gives the latter the chance to bring in reserves and set up proper defense.
A fire caused by a drone at a transformer substation has left the town of Kurchatov and other areas in the Kursk region without power.
Yesterday everything was going to be fine, counterattacks would seal the deal, and now?
Now, 'Another challenging day has come to an end. It's not going to be an easy night.'
How fast these Russians get demoralized by acknowledging the actual situation.
The regional operational headquarters in Kursk is starting the process of providing a one-time payment of 10,000 rubles to residents affected by shelling and forced to leave their homes, acting governor of Kursk Alexei Smirnov said.
No panic, no panic.
Russian channel Two Majors with an update from the Russian side.
➡️Ukraine holds ground in captured settlements and forest belts, mobile AFU groups are still active, AFU is preparing defensive structures, at night AFU DRG becomes active and SBU unit Alpha went to work in Kursk.
What do you notice? The boasting about Russian counterattacks is not fulfilled in this report either. So far, Russia has achieved absolutely nothing by bringing in reserves and additional equipment.
Additional footage from the Russian column that was destroyed near Oktyabr'skoe, east of Rylsk. Reportedly over a hundred Russian servicemen died.
There is already a new candidate for the governorship of the Kursk oblast.
A counter-terrorism operation (KTO) regime has been implemented in the Kursk region due to increased sabotage and terrorist threats from Ukraine. The same regime was previously introduced in the Bryansk region.
