Why is Womanface a drag?
1/ Womanface is blackface. The history of drag which like blackface stems from caricature & mockery reveals deep-seated prejudices that have long gone unchecked.
Time is up fellas.
We’re sick of your grotesque & overtly sexualised mockery of women.
2/ In the 19th century, white performers in the United States donned blackface in minstrel shows, perpetuating harmful stereotypes of Black people as lazy, ignorant, & subhuman.
These shows were popular from the 1830s through the early 20th century.
We no longer tolerate it.
3/ Zwart Piet a blackface character in Dutch holiday traditions, emerged in the mid-19th century as part of the celebration of Sinterklaas.
Despite growing protests, this disgusting racist tradition continues in some parts of the Netherlands.
The Dutch have a dark colonial past
4/ In 2001, Justin Trudeau, then a teacher, dressed in blackface at an Arabian Nights-themed party at his school.
Two more instances of Trudeau in blackface surfaced later, showing how ingrained & socially acceptable these behaviors once were, even in liberal circles.
Enough.
5/ From 1567-1660 women were banned from performing on stage in England by religious authorities under Elizabeth I & James I.
Men in drag played female roles & while it was about practicality it laid the groundwork for later performances that often mocked & caricatured women.
6/ Why do some gay men engage in drag today?
While drag emerged as part of gay culture, especially in the 20th century, as a form of resistance against homophobia & societal oppression, many women argue it reflects a deeper misogyny & contempt for them.
Womanface is Blackface.
7/ Women are often reduced to grotesque exaggerated stereotypes in drag—over-the-top makeup, exaggerated curves, & ridiculous parody of women.
This isn't just about expression; it's about perpetuating harmful ideas about what it means to be a woman.
They sneer at women.
8/ As postmodernist TQI+ ideology has captured public institutions & the media, there's been a marked increase in drag events aimed at children.
Drag Queen Story Hour & TV shows like RuPaul's Drag Race have become overtly sexualised & disturbingly target younger audiences.
9/ These events and shows raise serious concerns about overt misogyny & the creeping normalisation of paedophilia.
When adult men dress in womanface & perform highly sexualised acts in front of children, we must ask ourselves—what message are they sending?
Not a good one.
10/ The predatory perverted paedophile behavior often lurking in the shadows of drag culture is another issue.
In some cases drag goes beyond mere performance & delves into the objectification & exploitation of women & children raising serious concerns.
Love knows no boundaries.
11/ Society has recognised the harm in blackface, leading to its rejection.
The question now is, how much longer until we wake up to outrage of womanface?
How much longer until those who exploit it to prey on women & children are held accountable?
This needs to stop now.
12/ The parallels between blackface & womanface are disturbing obvious & striking.
Both are performances rooted in mockery hatred & contempt.
It's time to put an end to womanface & confront the misogyny behind it just as we did with blackface and racism.
Enough is enough boys.
