Harris walks right up to Trump and shakes his hand

Harris uses the first question to make a pitch for her economic agenda

Yikes -- Trump uses his first response to do his migrants are taking Black jobs bit

Harris points out that Trump left the economy in shambles, our democracy under attack, and brings up Project 2025

get a load of Kamala Harris's expressions here as Trump talks

Trump short-circuits while talking about "money for our country." Harris's facial expressions continue to steal the show.

OMG -- watch Harris as Trump calls her a Marxist and brings up her dad

oof -- Trump confuses Virginia and West Virginia while pushing his disgusting lies about women murdering their babies with help from doctors and Democratic politicians

WOW -- Linsey Davis fact-checks Trump awful lies about abortion. Kamala hammers the point home that Trump is a liar.

damn -- Harris addresses Trump directly while making the case against abortion bans

LMAO -- Trump throws JD Vance under the bus while dodging a question about if he'd veto an abortion ban

Trump claims he's been "a leader on IVF, which is fertilization" 😳

Harris invites people to attend a Trump rally to see how weird and dark they are

Trump is triggered by Harris bringing up people leaving his rallies early! And watch Harris's expressions here.

OMG -- Trump brings up debunked stories about migrants eating pets in Ohio, which prompts David Muir to fact-check him. Harris laughs it off and talks about her Republican endorsements.

Trump, who started the debate off calmly, is now yelling about migrants

David Muir debunks Trump's lies about crime. Trump responses by accusing the FBI of fraud. Harris then brings up Trump's criminal charges and the fact he has been found liable of sexual assault.

"This is someone who has openly said he would terminate -- I'm quoting -- terminate the Constitution of the United States" -- Harris is really taking it to Trump

eesh -- an angry Trump tries to blame Kamala Harris for a registered Republican shooting at him

Trump brags about his wealth while Harris glares at him

"Wait a minute, I'm talking now" -- Trump to Kamala Harris

David Muir asks Trump if he regrets anything about January 6. Trump responds by bringing up Ashli Babbitt and attacking a cop.

Trump lies that he had nothing to do with January 6

"Let's turn the page on this" -- After Trump sounds like a crazy person while trying to blame Nancy Pelosi for January 6, Harris calmly explains why Trump's conduct on that day and after the Charlottesville rally should be disqualifying

"I don't acknowledge that at all" -- Trump is still lying that he actually won the 2020 election

David Muir fact-checks Trump's lies about the 2020 election. Trump responds with crazed ranting and raving

"Donald Trump was fired by 81 million people" -- Kamala Harris

(watch Trump -- this one stung him)

Harris says that world leaders are laughing at Trump. Trump responds by bringing up his endorsement from Orban.

(Kim Jong Un must be miffed that Trump didn't mention him by name)

Harris endorses a two-state solution for Israel/Palestine. Trump responds by blathering about how Harris purportedly hates both Israel and "the Arab population"

"Donald Trump is weak and wrong on national security" -- Harris is really taking it to Trump with every response and is using Trump's own words against him

The Trump/Harris debate is on commercial break. If you appreciate my thread covering it, please show love by signing up for my newsletter. I think you'll enjoy PN and paid subscribers make my work possible. Thanks. publicnotice.co/subscribe

MUIR: Do you want Ukraine to win this war?

TRUMP: I want the war to stop

(that's not a yes)

Trump says he met with Putin sometime after he left office. Was this known?

Trump again refuses to say whether he wants Ukraine or Russia to win

"You're not running against Joe Biden. You're running against me" -- Kamala Harris

After telling Harris to shush, Trump suggests Putin might use nuclear weapons against the United States 😳

Muir catches Trump in another lie

Harris says she supported Biden's decision to pull out of Afghanistan and points out that America is not currently at war anywhere in the world for the first time this century

Trump disavows his own comments about Harris's racial identity as though someone else said it, but then doubles down on them. Harris responds by pointing out Trump's long history of racism while Trump nods.

Trump says "a lot of people agreed with me" on the Central Park 5 -- the five innocent Black teens he called to be executed

"She is Biden" -- Trump is starting to hallucinate

"What I do offer is a new generation of leadership for our country" -- watch the moment where Trump hangs his head here. He knows he got cooked.

DAVIS: 9 years after you started running, do you have a healthcare plan and can you tell us what it is?

TRUMP: Obamacare was lousy healthcare

(In other words no, he doesn't have a plan)

DAVIS: You still do not have a plan?

TRUMP: I have concepts of a plan

Harris begins her response on climate by pointing out that Trump thinks climate change is a hoax. Trump responds by ranting about Hunter Biden.

Harris: "Access to healthcare should be a right, and not just a privilege of those who can afford it. The plan has to be to strengthen the Affordable Care Act, not get rid of it"

here's the entirety of Kamala Harris's closing statement

here's the entirety of Donald Trump's (very bleak) closing statement

wow! Jake Tapper strongly pans Trump's debate performance, including him bringing up debunked smears against migrants

Brit Hume on Fox News: "Make no mistake about it -- Trump had a bad night .. this was pretty much her night"

Hannity attacks the ABC moderators, which makes sense since Trump's performance was indefensible

That's it for my 🧵 on the Harris/Trump debate. If you appreciate me bringing you all of these highlights, please support what I do by signing up for my newsletter. We're doing great work at PN and paid subscribers make my work possible. Thanks! publicnotice.co/subscribe
