🧐Gov. Walz National Security Questionnaire Gone?

Amid flurry of CCP foreign influence concerns, key background investigation agency says records for @GovTimWalz “likely destroyed [due to] retention policy”

Why are American’s concerned?  This thread reviews the evidence

🧵👇

According to @DailyCaller, while teaching in 1996, a team of three “educators” visited Gov. Walz's classroom.

Two were CCP party members and all worked or had worked for an institute included in the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC)

CPAFFC has been explicitly identified by the USG as an instrument of CCP influence used to “[co-opt] subnational governments”

It is part of a broad CCP-effort, called United Front Work. United Front Work aims to influence non-party members to support party strategic priorities

Later, in government, Walz’s name continued to appear in the context of CPAFFC.

For example, @nataliegwinters discovered schedule for a 2019 event that Walz was to co-headline with Li Xiaolin, then president of CPAFFC

👇

Li is CCP royalty – the daughter of a former Chinese President and married to a senior general in the Chinese military: Liu Yazhou

The BBC previously described Li as a “secret envoy” speculating that that Chinese leader Xi relied on Li to conduct back-channel diplomacy due to his familiarity with Li since childhood.

These back-channel discussions occurred under the guise of “cultural exchange".

There is much more to the web of connections between Gov. Walz and organizations linked to CCP.

For examples, see reporting by @LenczyckiPhilip including this article 👇

Are these influence effort effective? Yes, they’re very effective.

Let’s compare the CCP’s preferred positions on U.S. policies with the action of @GovTimWalz and his appointees on

A) Tariffs

B) Covid accountability for CCP

C) U.S. and Chinese history

A) The CCP is strongly opposed to U.S. tariffs ...,

and, in 2019, @GovTimWalz called for an end to the Trump admin tariffs on China.

Here’s a description of the Chinese ambassador denouncing Trump Admin. tariffs, while speaking at the US-China Governors Forum (which was co-organized by CPAFFC) in 2019.

(The US State Dept. withdrew from this forum in 2021 citing foreign influence concerns)

And Here is @GovTimWalz tweet calling for an end to tariffs on China.

(Note the timing: mid-2019 - coincident with the Chinese diplomatic push regarding tariffs via the US-China governors forum)

B) The CCP seeks to avoid accountability for the Covid pandemic.

Even America's political Left now recognizes the CCP is the obstacle to determining Covid origins and assigning responsibility 👇

The pandemic cost the US more than 1 million lives and $18 trillion.

In June 2020, @GovTimWalz appointee Chang Wang gave a presentation that discredited accountability work.

Wang suggested that US Congressional efforts to pass laws to hold the CCP accountable might “violate international law” and “is not how the rule of law works in the [US]”

.@LenczyckiPhilip  uncovered documents showing that Wang was a member of a Chinese political party loyal to the CCP and that Wang later received the title: “National Advanced Information Worker For Reflecting Societal Sentiments And The People’s Opinion"

C) The CCP whitewashes its own history but in the US pushes critical race theory.

In the same pandemic presentation, Wang invoked Chinese astrology - suggesting that the pandemic was part of a cycle of “natural disasters, war, famine, and turmoil” that occurs every 60 years.

Wang described the 60-year event preceding the pandemic as the “the great famine”.

This event is known to most Americans as Mao’s “Great Leap Forward”, a largely government-made catastrophe that killed tens of millions of Chinese citizens.

Reporting by a survivor of the Great Leap has shown that CCP officials manipulated casualty figures and misattributed, to flooding, starvation deaths caused by radical, misguided CCP policy.

Naturally this reporting is banned in China.

Gov. Walz appointee’s familiarity with the CCP system should have alerted him to its history of manipulating facts.

Instead, he followed the CCP playbook: avoiding accountability by ascribing responsibility to events predestined by astrology and thus outside of human control.

In contrast to Gov. Walz’s appointee’s very generous interpretation of CCP history, when interviewed on US history he was highly critical.

While holding his appointment, Wang called US history "shameful" and decried the “deep racist color in the foundation of the United States"

Similarly, the CCP works to advance the divisive CRT view of US history.

According to @nytimes, Party member Roy Singham uses his media network to “[push] Chinese talking points worldwide".

Singham funded “The People’s Forum” an activist group involved in the takeover of Columbia Univ. buildings

Another example is a report from Radio Free Asia that Chinese military officials sought to collect information on and mobilize individuals in America in support of BLM and Antifa activities during the summer of 2020.

The CCP has spun an extensive web of influence through US gov., economy, and culture. Walz connects to that web in many disturbing ways.

Though his background investigation with the Dept of Defense is gone, we'll dig to obtain answers that Americans deserve.
