SitRep - 08/11/24 - Does The US really want Ukraine to win, or not?

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The US recently announced more arms deliveries, but of those recent announcements, very little has been delivered.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.

Overnight, Ukraine mostly repelled a significant drone and missile attack.

Russian channels report that Russia lost a Ka-52 attack helicopter, includings its commander.

Overnight, Ukrainian drone attacked the Saratov oil refinery. Until now it is not known what the inflicted damage is. According to sources an oil tank and a refining unit were damaged.

A Russian assault group decimated.

In the Pokrovsk direction the Ukrainian SBU hunted for Russian logistics.

Russian military men filmed their own column destroyed by presumably Ukrainian artillery/HIMARS.

Lets continue with the general events. Putin congratulated Trump and said he is open to talks.

The US supports negotiations if Zelensky wants it. A lame answer. Why is the US not giving Ukraine the weapons needed to actually win this war?

Meanwhile Blinken and the French Foreign Minister said they will keep supporting Ukraine. But especially for the US, what is that worth if you keep drip feeding? Where are the weapons to allow Ukraine to actually win?

The Biden administration has lifted its ban on deploying U.S. military contractors to Ukraine. Why now out of a sudden? And not immediately?

A yes-no game between Chancellor Scholz and sacked finance minister Lindner.

New type air defense missiles will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024.

Meanwhile, Orban -using the moment of Trump's victory- is again pushing towards negotations in Russia's favor.

The World Bank will provide Ukraine with new funds.

Another announcement confirmed the World Bank -under another intitiative- will send even more to Ukraine.

With Trump's win in mind, European leaders are considering how to continue support for Ukraine in the coming period.

The EU council extended support for Ukraine's military mission until 2026.

Russia reportedly already started using them but now also Ukraine will start using optic fiber FPV drones.

Ukraine has suspended air traffic with Iran. Although there is no civilian and cargo traffic in Ukraine at this moment. This will come into effect once air traffic is restarted.

After Guterres' recent visit to Russia, yet another major UN failure.

Elon Musk is increasingly popping up alongside Trump at key moments.
