Since Maccabi Tel Aviv is trending, come and get to know its soccer/football fans who ignited anti-Arab hate and violence in Amsterdam, leading to reprisals from Arabs who were attacked (and who are universally being smeared as antisemites engaging in pogroms).

🧵

Here is a report from an Israeli agency, who sent observers to every match to find 190 incidents of racist chants, calling 2022-2023 "the most racist and violent" soccer season in Israel's history. Including routinely chanting "monkey" at Black players.

This predominant fan culture in Israeli soccer isn't only home calling foreign team bigoted things, but also veers into going after each other. The study found 20 matches where fans would call for "Shoah" of the opposing Israeli team.

Soccer fans violence isn't new, but it's exploding according to the Israeli report, which calls the fans a "mirror" of Israel's society.

In 2012, 300 Beitar Jerusalem fans stormed a mall to attack Palestinian and other Arab workers. @Mondoweiss

And as far back as 2003, an Israeli report found that Maccabi Tel Aviv, with Beitar Jerusalem, were composed of the two most racist fanbases.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans hold second place only because Beitar Jerusalem fans take it to another stratosphere. For example, openly celebrating being the only club that has never had an Arab player. One player, an African who came from Maccabis, returned to them after being violently mobbed by Beitar. Then, fled Maccabis to return to Nigeria.

In 2018, David Zirin (@EdgeofSports) wrote in @thenation about how Beitar Jerusalem renamed themselves to... Donald Trump.

Back to today, Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and The Netherlands "pogroms". The news and politicians being paid by AIPAC, and backed by the hate group, ADL and @JGreenblattADL are simply lying to you.

By erasing these fans' role in manufacturing antisemitism.

8

They're engaging in theater of "victimhood", supporting a historically violent, racist fanbase who came to Netherlands to assault and incite violence against Arabs, then flipping it to claim the reprisals and anger in return are simply targeting Jews.

9

It didn't even start in the Netherlands, it also occurred this Spring in Athens, Greece, where Maccabi Tel Aviv FC beat an Arab.

10

And tonight, as the fans return to Israel, having sparked a manufactured story of antisemitism and pogroms in Netherlands, have reset their sights on Palestinians, barely getting off the plane to chant about bombing Palestinian school children.

Finally, in order to truly understand the energy of Israeli soccer clubs like Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem, you have to witness them with your own eyes and ears.

Then tell me who, who from history they remind you of?
