This is my 2024 sports betting profit & loss by LEAGUE
If you want to make serious profits, then you NEED to be betting on every sport... Here's why 🧵👇
My bets are given out on Twitter (notifications ON) & live stream: twitch.tv/alexmonahan100
1) More sports = more opportunity. Strategy video: youtu.be/nxS7mkHxSmo
We want to use multiple sportsbooks as sharp, profitable bettors. All books set their own "prices" (e.g. odds & lines), so the betting market is extremely fragmented/inefficient. We never know which book is going to have the best value (e.g. Positive EV, arbitrage, middle bets) on a given day. Sometimes, DraftKings has a ton of value. Other days, it's BetMGM & Fliff.
For the exact same reason, we want to bet on MULTIPLE sports. More sports = more surface area for the sportsbooks to cover = more opportunities for books to "slip up" & offer value.
Sometimes, there's a TON of NBA value. Other days, I find really profitable (e.g. Positive EV) bets in hockey. It depends. Sports betting is about getting an "edge" and data, not a specific sport.
My 2022/2023 results from verified public bet tracker @pikkitsports are in the 2 pictures. Some years, more of my profit comes from NBA betting. Other years, it's NFL. That's just variance.
2) Having an "edge" isn't related to a specific sport.
Tutorial video on the 4 main sharp, data-driven betting strategies: youtu.be/nxS7mkHxSmo. All 4 of these strategies making money for ANY sport...
x.com/TheArbFather/s…
I've never met a gambler who makes money betting on the NBA but loses money on the NFL. If you're a degenerate gambler placing parlays with no edge, then you're going to LOSE money. It doesn't matter what sport you're betting on...
If you're arbitrage betting with OddsJam like @TheArbFather, you're making RISK-FREE money. A 5% arbitrage bet = $50 risk-free profit for every $1,000 wagered. It doesn't matter if it's an NHL, MLB or NBA arbitrage play.
Again, arbitrage is a risk-free betting strategy. As an arbitrage bettor, you're day trading the sportsbooks & "hedging" for a profit. All books set their own "prices," so arbitrage is just when 2 books have SUCH different odds that you can hedge for a guaranteed profit.
TLDR: If you lost money betting on the MLB, then you'll lose money betting on the NBA/NFL if you're using the same strategies.
3) DFS (PrizePIcks, Betr, etc) Requires Multiple Picks. Profitable PrizePicks strategy tutorial on YouTube: youtu.be/vddRLRyP8S0
DFS apps like PrizePicks require multiple picks to submit an entry. Sometimes, I'll see two NFL player props that have a high edge. However, I'll "round out" my slips with NBA/CBB/eSports picks that have an edge.
Again, if you're only betting on one sport, then you're REALLY limiting yourself... Sometimes, there's NFL bets that have a very high edge. Other days, it's NBA/CBB. More sports = better.
There's not a SINGLE proven, data-driven strategy that is profitable for betting on basketball but NOT football.
4) There's Positive EV (e.g. profitable or +ROI) promos for EVERY sport/league. Sign-up bonuses/promos tutorial video: youtu.be/F5KRaIBTt7w?si…
Promos are the EASIEST money we'll ever make sports betting. Some of these promos are literally free money. Obviously, you want to be taking advantage of ALL profitable promos. If a bet has an "edge" & is profitable, you want to take it... Shouldn't matter if it's MLB or NBA or NFL.
All my bets are tracked on verified public bet tracker @Pikkitsports. Here's my 2024 results...
1) If I only used 1 sportsbook, then I wouldn't be able to get these results... I've used 50+ sportsbooks since I started gambling.
2) If I only bet on 1 sport, then I wouldn't be able to get these results... I'll bet anything if there's an edge. @cmattdowns breaks down how EXPLOITABLE PrizePicks is on eSports (CS2, League of Legends ,etc) in this video: youtu.be/g6JBOO96whw?si…
TLDR: There's money to make on every sport. Learn sharp, data-driven betting strategies like arbitrage and then apply them to EVERY book/EVERY league and you'll make a lot of money.
