a thread of the key points newjeans mentioned during their live back in september:
because in that damn live, they didn’t only talk about mhj like many of y’all made others believe, and to make y’all see that the mistreatment from hybe goes beyond the incident with hanni and the manager.
1. one of the reasons they did the live was because of the employees of ador. shortly after mhj was dismissed, the ador employees who work for newjeans faced tough demands, struggled, and were under a lot of pressure. you’re trying to make newjeans seem selfish when they risked
their career not just for their own well-being, but also for the well-being of the people who work for them.
2. hybe doesn’t listen to them, or rather, they don’t care about their opinions. newjeans had a meeting with the current hybe management, probably to talk about their future as a group. the girls shared their thoughts, but they explain that the events that followed that meeting
showed their opinions were not considered. from the start of this situation, hybe kept saying they wanted the best for newjeans and would protect them, but they were unable to take the girls’ opinions into account or simply listen to them.
3. haerin mentioned that even after their debut, there were strange things happening. we already know that hybe didn’t support newjeans and that their debut was pushed to make way for another group, and probably other things we don’t know about. haerin
talked about the leaked trainee videos and private information. in most of these videos, the girls were dancing to inappropriate choreography and songs for their ages, along with private details, such as medical records (meaning there were likely other private matters that
were spread). all of this happened WITHOUT THE GIRLS’ CONSENT. hybe is supposed to protect them from such things, and as haerin clearly said, HYBE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. not to mention that days or weeks later, dispatch revealed that it was hybe who had shared this information
with them.
4. here is the full clip of hanni’s testimony where she explains the incident with the manager. i’ll let you listen because it seems like many of you either watched just a part of it or didn’t watch it at all, and based your opinions on tweets that downplay the manager’s actions
just in that clip, you can see how much that situation affected hanni. it looks like she’s about to cry as she talks about what happened…
5. hybe victim-blamed hanni. they blamed her for what happened with that manager instead of seeking justice for her; they tried to put the blame on her.
6. “There have been many frightening and uncomfortable experiences that are beyond my understanding of common sense.” just listen to minji’s word.
7. newjeans don’t feel respected at hybe, and it’s easy to see why. when mhj was dismissed, the girls found out through the news because hybe couldn’t even gather them to share the information. we’re not talking about a regular employee, we’re talking about a ceo.
8. hyein and the girls are fully aware of hybe’s media play. hyein explains that hybe did not help at all with their comeback promotions, and instead of supporting them, they portrayed them negatively to the public.
