The first reports of drone incursions in New Jersey began the week of November 18, 2024.
"Picatinny Arsenal confirmed the drones are not theirs and warned it’s illegal to fly UAVs over military installations without authorization."
Early on the local military bases confirmed they were not behind the drones.
"It's actually unsettling. They are not up for fifteen minutes they're up for hours. Some are the size of a car."
Week of December 1st the FAA imposes a temporary flight restriction over parts of New Jersey
Residents told not to approach downed drones and usual air traffic has reduced significantly.
The FBI joined the New Jersey Drone Incursions investigation in early December 2024.
The American airspace is the FBI's domain, the source of the drones remains unidentified.
