Edinburgh's full council meeting is underway at the City Chambers. Ex council leader Cammy Day has just joined the meeting remotely with his camera off, his vote could be decisive in Labour winning the administration vote

Deputy council leader Mandy Watt says she first found out about allegations against Cllr Day December 6 at a City Chanbers Xmas party. "Cllr Booth put his smartphone to me and said have you seen this headline?... as soon as I got home I had to subscribe to the Times"

Tory cllr Max Mitchell proposes continuation of appointment until after Christmas and the Colinton-Fairmilehead by election.

@lezleymarion LibDem leader @kevin_lang says council should make a decision today. 'Next month we have to make a big decision on the visitor levy, and then weeks after that a decision about a budget

'Whatever you think should happen I think that should happen today'

@lezleymarion @kevin_lang Cllr Meagher has turned her camera back on and raised a virtual hand to speak. Lord Provost said a few mins ago no more speaker request but will be up to him whether to let her speak
