Been seeing a lot of hate for this recent issue and while I know it's mostly haters and bigots. I would like to take the time to debunk a lot of the bs I see thrown on Miles Morales 2022 by Cody Ziglar. 🧵

First up, while we don't know anything about Anasi's relationship with Miles, the fact he didn't know about it, plus it's actively hindering his way to cure his vampirism, makes it another problem in his life and not a traditional power-up or buff. This could change later though

Speaking of power ups A lot of people have stated this run is nothing but "cool moments" or extra buffs to lack character moments but in the realm of the story the only real evolutions to Miles power set is the venom saber, super form and spider-sense radar.

All of said abilities are just natural evolutions to his power set like the Mega Venom blast and threads. Regardless these powers have never guaranteed Miles a win against enemies since they are stronger than him or plan around it.

While sure the fights are a lot there are also plenty of character development and moments of introspection for Miles. Ziglar's entire run centers around him actively taking steps to be more proactive to help balance his life better amidst challenges and traumas caused by Spidey.

He gets threapy, mentorship from Misty and starts having (hopefully) long term changes by having Uncle Aaron turn over a new leaf and Shift joining the Morales family.

Finally, Miles gets new villains as well, which, combined with hissupporting cast and possible connection with Anasi, would help him stand out from Peter (Who also has a spider totem, btw. This run is a fresh start for Miles and does everything his critics want if they read it.
