An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Everything was focussed on one thing today: the AFU has restarted offensive operations in the Kursk region.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.

Ukrainian air defense knocked down quite a lot of drones overnight.

The GUR assasinated another Russian high ranking officer.

A sudden 'fire' broke out in Apsheronsk, leaving 55.000 Russian residents without power.

Ukraine's new 'Sych' system, operating against Russian targets.

An assault in the Kharkiv region, repelled by a joint effort from the 92, 77th and Burevyi brigades.

A Serbian mercenary, working as a Russian spy, was killed in Ukraine.

At the Kinburn Spit, Ukraine is actively bombing Russian units there, leaving them with severe losses.

The 110th Brigade repelled a Russian attempt to reach their positions.

Lets continue with the general events. Pro-Russian Transnistria is on the verge of total depletion.

Zelensky reported that Western components are still being found en masse in Russian produced Shahed drones.

Scholz dismissed rumors about him visiting Moscow.

Petr Pavel approved 40 Czech citizens to fight in the ranks of the AFU.

Today was all about the renewed Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region. If you want to read all the updates, please check out my daily thread.

We will highlight the most important events. Starting this morning, Russian sources all started reporting that Ukraine had gone on the offensive in the Kursk region.

Preliminary info stated that Ukrainian units were able to penetrate to Berdin, and even adjacent Novosotnitskii, unconfirmed at that time.

Strangely enough, there also were reports of Russian forces counterattacking towards the Sumy region. Later this turned out to be a flanking attempt, and attacks near Malaya Lokhnya that completely failed for Russia.

Russian forces confirmed Ukraine had landed troops in Berdin.

Russians are actively complaining that Ukraine is using very good electronic warfare systems, which made their regular FPV's useless. Only optic fiber drones were working for Russians.

Chechen commander Alaudinov showed his face, usually that is an indicator that Ukraine is advancing.

During the day, it became known that Ukraine had indeed penetrated into Berdin. But it is unsure if they managed to grab a foothold. Russian sources such as Rybar and Romanov still believe this is not the main strike.

The situation, as far as we can analyze it based on geolocated footage, is now like this. Ukraine advanced to the very outskirts of Berdin and Novosotnitskii, entered it, but it is not yet clear if there is a foothold. Active fighting is reported.
