πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡± | Donald Trump Jr. landed in Nuuk to discuss the possibility of the US buying Greenland

To most, this idea sounds absurd. What's the point?

It's actually incredibly strategic & I believe I've pinpointed why this is likely to happen...🧡

Greenland is an island territory of the Kingdom of Denmark

Home to 56,000 people, Greenland is the least densely-populated region in the world and the third largest area in North America after Canada and the US

It's also already home to several US military bases

So, why would the US care about Greenland? Minerals and natural resources.

Greenland is incredibly rich in rare earth minerals that are vital to the US, our economy and national sovereignty

In fact, one of the largest undeveloped deposits of rare-earth minerals outside of China is in Greenland

Access to Greenland's resources could help break US dependency on China's rare earth minerals

What minerals does Greenland have? Precious metals, coal, oil, uranium and many others

Let's focus on uranium

If you've been paying close attention, you know that energy is going to be a key issue going forward as we enter the Age of Artificial Intelligence

The new technologies, primarily AI, are incredibly energy-intensive

A query on Chat GPT uses roughly 10x more power than a Google search

There's quite literally not enough energy in the world for the amount of power-intensive AI systems and datacenters that are estimated to be in use

This is already a massive issue that needs to be addressed but with the "Tech Accelerationists" who are surrounding Trump, this isn't going to slowdown - it's going to accelerate

(I just wrote an in-depth Substack on this topic - link in bio)

Trump has been signaling his intentions to become "energy dominant" and wants to unleash nuclear power as another energy source

I urge you to read some of Marc Andreessen's manifesto: a16z.com/the-techno-opt…

Here's a couple excerpts on the topic of energy in a world the embraces ever-expanding technology

Andreessen isn't the only "tech bro" in Trump's ear pushing for nuclear and massively increasing our energy capacity for artificial intelligence

Greenland will be door to the US gaining the energy dominance needed to fuel the tech acceleration we will see in the coming years

Suddenly the idea isn't so crazy. It's all part of the bigger plan - accelerating technology

end
