I can't believe he said it.
Trudeau just resigned—and man, it's about time.
A lot of Canadians have been begging for this day.
Even his own party wanted him gone.
But here's why we can't celebrate just yet:
Classic Trudeau move on his way out:
He prorogued Parliament until March 24th, 2025.
That means everything stops.
No committees. No votes. Nothing.
It's his last attempt to protect his failing party.
Let me break this down for you...
By stopping Parliament, he's buying the Liberals time to:
• Find a new leader
• Rebuild their mess
• Hide from tough questions
But here's what they're hoping you don't think about:
The government runs out of money on March 31st.
That gives them just 7 days after Parliament returns to pass funding bills.
Talk about leaving a mess for the next person to clean up.
The leadership race is getting interesting though...
We've got:
• Melanie Joly (Foreign Affairs Minister)
• François-Philippe Champagne (Innovation Minister)
• Anita Anand (Defense Minister)
But everyone's watching two big names:
First up: Chrystia Freeland.
Trudeau's former right-hand before he turned in her resignation last month.
The party establishment wants her.
But there's another player entering the game:
Mark Carney's quietly building a campaign.
Former Bank of Canada Governor. Smart guy.
And his timing could be perfect.
Because Trump is about to drop his tariffs and wreck our economy:
Trump's threatening a 25% tariff on Canadian imports.
The economists are saying it would push us into recession.
And guess what? The Liberals have no plan.
Look at what the next leader has to deal with:
• Housing costs through the roof
• Immigration system in chaos
• Population actually shrinking in 2025
• Foreign policy mess
Meanwhile, Poilievre's ready with real solutions 📹:
The NDP holds all the cards right now.
Without their support, the new Liberal leader can't:
• Keep the government funded
• Survive confidence votes
• Pass anything meaningful
Singh knows it too.
These are the next couple months:
• Leadership race (next 45-60 days)
• Parliament returns March 24
• Money runs out March 31
The Liberals are playing chicken with our country's stability.
After nearly a decade of Trudeau's "leadership" since 2015, we're in uncharted waters.
But that's exactly what we need.
Sometimes you need to hit bottom before you can rebuild.
The next 60 days determine everything:
• Who takes over the Liberal mess
• If our government survives
• How we handle Trump
• Where our economy goes
And I'll tell you this - we need real leadership now.
Canada is in dire need of leadership.
Hopefully someone can finally fix what Trudeau broke.
March 24th is coming fast.
