The most misunderstood figure in human history:
Jesus.
I sat down with Father Sean O’Laoire to discuss who Jesus really was, what he stood for, and our personal encounters with Yeshua himself.
Here’s everything I learned:
Sean O'Laoire was a Catholic Priest for 41 years.
He was forced to resign from his Priesthood due to his unconventional views on reincarnation and advocation for women priests, among other mystical, esoteric ideas.
Part of Sean's mission today has to do with setting Jesus free from the confines of institutionalized religion.
In the latest episode of the Aubrey Marcus Podcast, we explored who Jesus REALLY was, and what we can learn from the Great Shephard from Nazareth.
Let's dive in:
Jesus wasn’t just a carpenter or a divine figure to be worshiped from afar.
He was an avatar—a divine being who intersected with human history, fully aware of his oneness with God.
But his message wasn’t about him being special. It was about us realizing that same oneness.
Father Sean says we've "put Jesus on a shelf"— a plastic figure we bow to, but don’t truly live by.
He says it’s like putting medicine on a shelf without using it.
His reinterpretation is clear:
Jesus didn’t come to be worshiped. He came to be imitated.
Jesus didn’t want us to adore him as the Son of God.
He wanted us to recognize ourselves as Children of God.
This is the heart of his message—and one that’s been twisted over centuries.
Another idea we explored:
That “Jesus died for our sins.”
Father Sean reframes it:
Jesus transmuted suffering into love.
He taught us to take the world’s pain, breathe it in, and exhale unconditional love—a practice we can all aspire to.
Love is at the heart of Jesus’s message.
I had an encounter with Yeshua during an ayahuasca ceremony where he gave me two words of advice:
“Love everything.”
Here’s the story:
One final important point:
Stop trying to be Jesus.
Start becoming the fullest expression of you.
And start embodying the Way he showed us.
