Some observers of the Tamriel Rebuilt Community Watchdog are expressing concern about the efficacy of Baar Dau's deployment.

But they aren't thinking big-picture.

We took a detour.

Took down another project.

This is power politics.

And we are winning.

1/?

You may know about a modding project for Fallout New Vegas known as "Nuevo Mexico".

It was an affront.

Visionless 2015 era modslop.

No public development info except trailers.

Obvious backdoor deals with high profile creators.

Something had to be done.

2/?

For months, the Tamriel Rebuilt Community Watchdog was bombarded with shorts, reddit posts, and the cloying hype of the unwashed masses.

Something was fishy about this.

Why was a mod this shit getting attention?

What were they hiding?

That was when it all clicked.

3/?

On december 22nd, 2024, The Tamriel Rebuilt Community watchdog recieved a tip.

The public face of the project, Zapshock, had some skeletons in the closet.

Let's investigate his crimes, one by one.

4/?

According to a prominent modder -

"...he is also known as Zapshock and Urias, who has sent other modders actual malware and stalked a former folon writer."

This was after attempting a coup on the highly popular "Another Millenia" mod - stealing its assets for his mod

5/?

And then attempting to "re-integrate it" without any sort of attribution.

This was done with zero direct contact with Another Millenia's dev

What a disgusting piece of shit.

Let me introduce another character - "JK- serling"

He is the second rotten appendage of Nuevo Mexico's sick machine

Here he is trying to run defence for zapshock on a now-deleted discord thread.

Yes, that's them seriously comparing themselves to New california.

7/?

And don't even get us started on the delays.

All the time with these people.

For years - "The project is on hold".

Then "we are back" 3 months later.

Talk about crying wolf.

Well this time, we think it's gonna stick.

8/?

Here are just some of the reasons that the project was put on hold - as told by project insiders.

- Originally set in 2255, but changed to the 2160s

- Single open world, but changed to multiple connected spaces

- Porting the entire project to FO4 was even floated in 2022

9/?

Everyone in the community knows what we stand for.

Openness. Fairness.

Letting the brightest amongst us shine.

Does a mod-stealing, sympathy-baiting, visionless walled garden of a "project" sound like something we'd let slide?

I think you know the answer, dear reader.

10/?

Remember how we mentioned "skeletons"?

Yeah, we haven't gotten to the doozy yet.

Ready?

Zapshock is an undocumented alien, living illegally in Tucson.

Let's meet the true face of the project.

11/?

Meet José Maximiliano Eduardo de la Cruz Fernández, 28, from Tuxtla Gutierrez.

Here is his Facebook profile picture.

Real Classy.

12/?

The insider also gave us some screenshots from back in 2020.

Keep in mind, his english has improved a lot.

But we can see some pretty damning stuff already.

He snuck into the US, stole jobs, and for what?

To make this disgusting fucking mod.

13/?

We had to do something with this info.

The community couldn't take much more gaslighting from this 2-bit dictator who was running his project into the ground.

Luckily, President Donald Trump made this all a lot easier.

14/?

On the 01/23/2025, the Tamriel Rebuilt Community Watchdog submitted a tip to ICE regarding José's status, based off of this message:

This is obviously more recent - take note of his newfound mastery of the english language.

Now we just had to wait.

15/?

And it didn't take long for our diligence to bear fruit.

1/27/2025, in the #dev-misc channel, José sent a flurry of messages.

Sounds like our intel was good.

Not that there was ever any doubt.

16/?

Sounds like José's lock wasn't to sturdy. Those were his last messages.

The announcement of the mod's closure came not long after.

And here lies a final irony of zapshock.

This entire time, someone else was writing his posts.

17/?

You read that right.

This entire time, another person was secretly writing all of José's public-facing posts.

What kind of sick egomaniac cares that much about their public image?

José Maximiliano Eduardo de la Cruz Fernández

That's who.

18/?

This also explains how zapshock was able to announce the closer, after he was taken into custody.

We won't identify this user.

We are committed to precision.

This user was ultimately just another victim of José's evil empire.

But not any more.

19/?

What can be learned from this?

In many ways, our mission to take down F:NM, and the ICE raid that resulted were very similar.

What do we mean?

Let the Tamriel Rebuilt Community Watchdog explain.

20/?

Both the TRCW, and ICE's Thom Homan, are on a mission to purge deep-set rot from a system too optimistic to handle it on its own.

Both were told it couldn't be done.

Both did it within a week.

Both were mocked, then feared, then respected.

Both will be remembered.

21/?

Now, let's tie it all back.

Baar Dau might not be bringing down the ivory tower yet.

But it is scaring those at the top.

And for them, it's only going to get worse.

2025: New America, New Tamriel.

Get ready PT, you're next.

It's time for your own ICE raid.

22/22.
