The new patch is here and brings many changes that significantly alter how you should play the game.
Most players haven't adjusted to these changes yet, and they're losing LP because of it.
Here are the top 5 changes in Patch 14.2 of Set 14 🧵//
Zeri Exotech Items
This patch brought a round of updates to all the Exotech items. Zeri's previous best items, Flux Capactor and Pulse Stabilizer, both received minor nerfs, and Holobow received significant buffs.
Comparing the two builds on this patch (Holobow + Pulse vs Flux + Pulse), we can see the Holobow build performs 0.6 average placements better than the old BIS.
Builds with Flux are still decent, but when playing Exotech, prioritize playing the comp when offered Holobow. If you don't have Pulse, make sure you have IE on Zeri so her clones can crit and benefit from the crit chance.
These are Veigar's item stats on 14.1b.
These are Veigar's item stats on 14.2.
On the previous patch, Veigar had a bug where his spell could not critically strike even if he had a source of spell crit (JG, Lotus). This made builds with spell crit really really bad and made full mana builds much better.
74% of people Diamond+ are still building Nashor, but on this patch, the stats are clear: the best build is Guardbreaker + JG. All other builds come second.
The largest buff to a single unit goes to Jarvan IV. He received a buff to his AD, Shield, and Spell AD Ratio. He basically does double the damage, and is a bit tankier than the previous patch. These changes make Jarvan quite a desirable item holder.
(This board is 6 streak on 5-2 btw)
While his best end game build is as a Utility tank for the Vayne/Senna comp, he is a very respectable item holder throughout stage 3 and stage 4 for any AD melee units (Rengar items or Zed items). Jarvan 2 might be better than both Rengar 1 and Zed 1, so consider using him until you have your real carry.
There's been a gradual shift from Rengar Executioners to Rengar Street Demons at high elo. The benefit of playing Street Demons is that
a) Rengar is a lot tankier
b) You get to carry Jinx
c) You get to trio carry Brand
On level 7 you play 7 SD when you find Brand and Neeko, and prioritize 3 item Rengar + 3 item Jinx, then 3 item Brand.
Executioner emblem is a great replacement for IE as it allows Jinx to piece 40% of her target's amour (this stacks with armour reduction).
Level for Vex on 8.
Last but not least are the buffs to the weaker Circlets! These augments used to be very weak and were almost never the correct take excluding prismatic trait circumstances.
With better units and an extra component added onto the weak circlets, these augments are much stronger now (note the higher winrate ones such as Exotech/Anima/SD were not buffed).
I would recommend taking Circlets when you can immediately empower your board on the turn you take it.
For example, in this spot Bastion Circlet is a fairly good take because you immediately get a Sejuani to replace Mordekaiser and use the Circlet to hit 4 Bastion this turn. Bonus points if you can use the Belt to make an item right away.
