Breaking: I've uncovered that Columbia's Mohsen Mahdawi served as the "coordinator" for Fatah’s Student Movement at Birzeit University.

The group glorifies mass murderers, urges students to become "martyrs," has members who ARE terrorists, and hosts terror parades on campus🧵

The other day, the NYT offered a glowing portrayal of Columbia University's Mohsen Mahdawi, whom they bizarrely portray as a lifelong advocate for peace.

In doing so, they unintentionally helped me find previously unreported facts that show who Mohsen really is.

But first, let's look at some other nuggets the NYT gave us:

This seems to be the first time it's been reported that Mahdawi’s best friend was killed while throwing stones at IDF soldiers.

That’s a far cry from how he told the story in past appearances, like on @60Minutes

Stone throwing is extremely dangerous and has taken the lives of many Israelis.

If you're throwing stones, you may well be shot—and for good reason.

The NYT might call sneaking through the security fence into Israel romantic. I'd say it's illegal.

The NYT writers note that Mohsen glorifies Dalal Mughrabi, but fail to mention she took part in the 1978 Coastal Road massacre, killing 38 Israelis, including 13 kids.

They also incorrectly suggest he wrote the poem, whereas he simply expressed support for it (still vile)

They also can't even get their facts straight. Nobody accused Mohsen's cousin of being Hamas.

Rather, he was a member of the US-designated terror group the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (Fatah's armed wing). And Mohsen adored him.

🚨BUT HERE'S THE MOST NOTABLE PART🚨

The NYT helped me figure out that circa 2013 (at the very least), Mohsen was the coordinator of Fatah's Shabiba ("Youth") student movement at Birzeit University.

So what do we know about Fatah's student wing?

This is them.

And this is them too:

And this is their Facebook page.

The person that Fatah's student group is glorifying here is senior Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terrorist Zakaria Zubeidi

Around the period when Mohsen served as the Fatah student movement's coordinator, the group glorified the aforementioned mass murderer Dalal Mughrabi

This isn't the only time the group posted support for Mughrabi around the time Mohsen was its coordinator.

The group has also encouraged students to become "martyrs"—clearly referring to terrorists, based on the images included in their statements.

According to @terrorisminfo, Fatah's Shabiba Student Movement has had members who were ALSO members of the US-designated Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

Fatah's Shabiba Student Movement isn't a student movement in the Western sense.

It's an entity that explicitly endorses, promotes, and calls for terrorism.

Here's a terrorist parade it held at Birzeit—Mohsen's alma mater—in 2018.

Ask yourselves: Should someone who served as the "coordinator" of this group be allowed in the U.S. or given American citizenship?

Please also amplify @mishtal's amazing thread with even more info!

Clarification: Mohsen DID write the poem about mass murderer Dalal Mughrabi. I missed this in the beginning — thanks @kweansmom for flagging

Bonus: Mohsen Mahdawi's admiration for Dalal Mughrabi clearly carried over to Columbia SJP.
