South Africa's submission to UNSC in Feb. 2025 did not receive the attention it deserves. This is one of the most publicly-available comprehensive documentation of Israel's intent to commit to genocide as evidenced by its pattern of conduct and statements. 🧵 1/

2) South Africa highlights 10 patterns of conduct that are prevalent from the publicly available evidence and that indicate the existence of a genocidal intent:

3) A. The pattern of Israel targeting the vulnerable, including children, women, the wounded and disabled, and those who have repeatedly been displaced and are seeking shelter

4) B. The pattern of Israel denying humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza and the associated policy of starvation of that community

5) C. The pattern of Israel creating unbearable living conditions for the Palestinian population of Gaza

6) D. The pattern of Israel targeting those trying to help and protect Palestinians, including medical and humanitarian personnel.

7) E. The pattern of Israel’s destruction of Palestinian life in Gaza

8) F. The pattern of Israel’s forcible transfer and displacement of Palestinians in and out of Gaza

9) G. Israel’s practice of complete disregard for the laws of war: Israel’s systematic and sustained lack of compliance with the most basic rules of international humanitarian law is further evidence of a breach of Article II of the Genocide Convention

10) H. Israel’s failure to distinguish between civilians and those actively involved in hostilities

11) I. The pattern of Israel supporting, tolerating and encouraging the commission of crimes against Palestinians.

12) J. The pattern of impunity for the perpetrators of crimes committed in pursuance of Israel’s other identified patterns of atrocity.

13) Secondly, the S.A. submissions documents statements of genocidal intent and incitement to genocide

14) The Annex I comprising these statements is extensive and includes a. statements by senior Israeli governmental officials

15) b. Incitement to Genocide by Members of the Knesset

18) It also documents soldiers encouraging the violation of international law, "advocating and inciting dehumanising conduct, war crimes, and atrocity crimes."

19) It also documents "Israeli senior officers and soldiers have openly and explicitly called for the total destruction, erasure, and wiping out of Gaza"
