📢 MARIA EAGLE, UK Minister for Defence Procurement and Industry, gave a keynote speech celebrating the RAF's surveillance flights over Gaza which has provided key intelligence to Israel to enact their genocide in Gaza.
📢 TZIPI HOTOVELY, Israeli ambassador to the UK, was the main host of the event.
Hotovely openly denies the Nakba and consistently expresses genocidal intent in proclaiming her support for the bombing of mosques, houses and schools in Palestine.
📢 NIGEL FARAGE, Leader of Reform, was in attendance.
Farage is a notorious figure for promoting neo-nazi ideologies, anti-immigrant rhetoric, and dangerous conspiracies here in the UK. His presence at this event speaks volumes about the political agenda being put forward.
📢 RICHARD TICE, Deputy Leader of Reform UK, also attended, alongside news presenters from GB News. Tice has been a vocal supporter of right-wing policies and has close ties to far-right media outlets.
📢 KEMI BADENOCH, Leader of the Conservative Party, previously authorised continued British exports to Israel and has referred to Israel's genocidal siege of Gaza as "extraordinary".
📢 STEPHEN CRABB, former Tory Minister and chairman of Conservative Friends of Israel, who was given Wimbledon tickets by BP in July 2022 just five months before Israel organised the tender for gas exploration licences in Gaza.
British Museum has a £45m partnership with BP.
📢 LORD AUSTIN, the UK trade envoy to Israel and former Labour MP, who has been found guilty in the past of falsifying statements, paying damages to @FriendsofAlAqsa for claiming that they are Holocaust deniers.
📢 and @jimmycarr, comedian, hosted the event.
Carr, who’s made a career out of "jokes" about the Holocaust and marginalised groups, was also on stage, providing a veneer of entertainment to this grotesque celebration.
This was not just a random event.
It’s narrative laundering. An opportunity to legitimise Israel’s genocide while suppressing protesters in solidarity with Palestine - hosted by a British public museum funded by UK taxpayers.
The British Museum already partners with BP, a company fuelling Israel’s genocide. Now it has actively hosted celebrations for Israel’s war criminals.

🧾We have 5 demands for the museum:
1. Provide full disclosure on its links with Israel;
2. Sever all ties to BP, including an end to the £50m sponsorship and any other sub-contracts;
3. Set up a democratic staff-led decision-making body for future political events, funding opportunities and public-private partnerships;
4. Rename the BP Lecture Theatre;
5. Issue a statement committing to no more fossil fuels or arms industry funding.
