🚨 Europe Just Copied Trump.
No, not his style — his substance.
The EU is now barring Chinese medical devices from public contracts, in a move very similar to Trump’s America First trade policy.
After years of mocking Trump, Europe is admitting: He was right. 🧵
2/ For decades, the West tolerated Chinese protectionism.
The theory? “Let them develop. They'll open up later.”
But China never did.
In medical devices, 87% of Chinese government contracts exclude Western firms — including Europe’s.
That’s not trade. That’s cheating.
3/ So what’s Europe doing?
👉 Banning Chinese-made medical devices from public tenders over €5 million
👉 Limiting Chinese content to under 50%
👉 Making exceptions only if no alternatives exist
Translation: China is cut off from Europe’s public health spending.
4/ Why does that matter?
Because almost all hospital spending in Europe is nationalized.
This isn’t a symbolic gesture. This is Europe saying: you won’t sell to us while you shut us out.
It’s Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs,” minus the word “tariff.”

5/ EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic says this isn’t about punishment.
He just wants China to play fair.

He even says if China reforms, the restrictions could be lifted.

Total denial.
Accusations of “protectionism.”
Zero acknowledgment of its own exclusionary policies.

The CCP isn’t interested in fairness. It’s only interested in dominance.
7/ This move follows another big shift:
👉 In June, the EU imposed major tariffs on Chinese EVs
👉 They cited unfair subsidies and market distortion — again, just like Trump
The free ride is over. Even the globalists know it now.
