I used to be stressed and anxious out of my mind...
Then I found Naval Ravikant and obsessedly spent 400 hours+ binge-watching all of his podcasts online.
His ideas will make you immune to depression & anxiety.
This is Naval's Happiness Protocol: 🧵
Practical philosophy doesn’t have to be abstract.
Naval’s approach is simple:
• Health
• Wealth
• Happiness
If something works for one person, it can work for another.
But that's not all...
Live long enough, and you’ll ask:
• How do I stay happy?
• How do I stay healthy?
• How do I get wealthy?
• How do I raise a good family?
Three kinds of health:
• Financial: no daily fear about money
• Physical: no chronic disease or addiction
• Mental: peace and contentment with yourself
You can be happy without wealth — but it’s playing on hard mode.
1. HEALTH
• A sick man wants only one thing.
• A healthy man wants 10,000 things.
If your body breaks down, your mind follows.
Your genetics set the baseline — but you control more than you think.
Like fitness or nutrition, happiness can be learned and improved.
2/ DESIRE
Desire is a contract you make to be unhappy until you get what you want.
• Reduce your contracts.
• Reduce your unhappiness.
No single thing will make you happy forever.
3/ MEANINGFUL PLEASURE
Pursuing pleasure for its own sake leads to addiction.
Addiction creates fake work, fake play, fake relationships.
• We don’t just want peace of mind.
• We want peace from mind.
Breaking it means building a life where you’re happy without the noise.
WHY HAPPINESS?
A peaceful mind makes better decisions.
Warren Buffett wins by making a few high-quality decisions each year.
Peace improves judgment — and compounds faster than hard work.
Weaponized pleasures are everywhere.
Moments of awe silence the inner voice — and that’s what we crave.
Peace is happiness at rest.
Happiness is peace in motion.
Peace comes from understanding truth — not chasing more activity.
The closer you are to the truth, the quieter you become inside.
Wisdom creates stoicism — not the other way around.
Society says:
• Money won’t make you happy
• School is for education
Truth-seeking means seeing through consensus illusions.
Most self-improvement is disguised self-conflict.
True change is natural and arises from deep understanding.
Happiness isn't found; it's uncovered by shedding illusions, addictions, and finding truth.
