This is Robert Greene.

In 1998, he wrote The 48 Laws of Power, a book so manipulative, it’s banned in prisons.

But it’s studied by CEOs, cult leaders, and world-class operators.

Here are the 10 most powerful laws out of the 48 that they hope you never figure out: 🧵

This isn’t a typical “self-help” book.

It’s a survival manual for power games happening all around you, whether you see them or not.

Once I realised that, everything clicked.

Here’s what makes it so dangerous (and valuable):

Robert Greene published it in 1998.

· Millions sold
· Studied by CEOs & world leaders
· Still controversial 25+ years later

Crazy part?

It’s banned in U.S. prisons because once people understand power, they’re harder to control.

So here’s 10 of its most dangerous laws:

1) Law 1: Never outshine the master

Make your boss, mentor, or leader feel insecure → they’ll cut you down.

Let them shine → you rise with them.

2) Law 3: Conceal your intentions

Revealing every move makes you predictable.

I learned this the hard way: I overshared my plans → others copied them.

3) Law 6: Court attention at all costs

Those who control attention control influence.

4) Law 10: Avoid the unhappy & unlucky

Energy is contagious, so surround yourself with winners, and your odds rise.

5) Law 15: Crush your enemy totally

Half-measures breed revenge.
If you choose to compete, commit fully.

6) Law 20: Do not commit to anyone

Powerful people commit strategically, not emotionally.

7) Law 33: Discover each man’s “thumbscrew”

Everyone has a weak point: Fear, desire, weakness.

Find it and you understand how they move, but use this carefully as manipulation destroys trust if abused.

8) Law 34: Be royal in your own fashion

Carry yourself with confidence and self-respect.

Act like you belong before anyone else believes it.

9) Law 40: Despise the free lunch

Nothing is free.

Everything has strings attached.

10) Law 48: Assume formlessness

Rigidity = weakness.
Adaptability = power.

The person who can shift roles, strategies, and identities wins long-term.

Now the exercise:

• Identify the 3 laws you break most often
• Those are your blind spots
• Fix them → you stop leaking power without knowing it

If you’ve ever read The 48 Laws of Power by @RobertGreene , you know the value of timeless psychology.

I break down those same principles for business & life.
