A 🧵 On Ben Shapiro, A Voice Of Reason And Common Sense When Both Are Needed More Than Ever

For years, the conservative movement has had one standout figure known for his relentless ability to debate, shut down arguments, and shape conversations. He became widely recognized for the phrase he popularized, “Facts don’t care about your feelings.” That person is, of course, Ben Shapiro.

Now, in a time when there is a deep divide on the right, it is only fitting that we remind ourselves of the story of this great man and his achievements.

It will no doubt infuriate some, but… well… facts don’t care about your feelings.

1. Ben Shapiro was born in 1984 in Los Angeles, California.

He showed strong academic abilities early on and ended up skipping both third grade and ninth grade.

He went on to attend UCLA, where he earned a degree in political science, and later completed his studies at Harvard Law School.

While he was still a college student, he started writing political commentary and sent his work to major publications.

By the time he was seventeen, he had already become a nationally syndicated columnist, making him one of the youngest people in the country to earn that distinction.

2. Shapiro published his first book when he was twenty years old.

In his early writing, he focused on media bias, cultural debates, and critiques of American liberalism. That work helped him gain recognition within conservative circles.

He eventually became an editor at large at Breitbart News, which further raised his public profile.

His resignation from Breitbart in 2016, following disagreements over how internal controversies were handled, became a widely discussed moment and ultimately pushed him toward building his own media platforms.

3. One of Shapiro’s biggest career steps came in 2015 when he co-founded The Daily Wire with Jeremy Boreing.

The platform grew quickly and became one of the most influential conservative media companies in the country.

Shapiro worked as editor in chief for several years before moving into an editor emeritus role.

Over time, The Daily Wire expanded into podcasts, video shows, films, and educational content, turning it into a major hub for many people on the American right.

4. Shapiro’s daily podcast and radio program, The Ben Shapiro Show, grew into one of the most listened to political podcasts in the world.

His fast delivery, debate heavy approach, and clear ideological framing became trademarks of his style.

The show played a big role in establishing him as a major conservative voice for younger audiences, especially on YouTube and later TikTok, where clips of his debates and monologues often went viral.

5. Shapiro’s career has produced many moments that spread widely online.

Some of the most recognizable come from his appearances on college campuses, where he often took questions from critics in long Q and A sessions.

Phrases like “facts do not care about your feelings” became part of broader internet culture.

His debates with progressive figures on issues like gender identity, free speech, and cultural politics have continued to circulate across social media.

6. Arguably Bens most famous moment, one where the line "Facts don't care about your feelings" was made famous:

7. In recent years, a growing divide on the right has appeared as a result of the Israel Gaza conflict and the disturbing return of antisemitism.

Some people have thrown around claims that Ben Shapiro is somehow anti Christian or that he cares only about Jewish interests.

Anyone with even a hint of common sense can see that these claims are nothing more than a harmful and baseless trope.

Here on Alex Clarks show "Culture Apothecary", Ben Shapiro can be seen stressing how important it is for Americans and many people across the West to return to Christianity:

Alex: "If you could offer one remedy to heal a sick culture, physically, emotionally or spiritually, what would that remedy be?"

Ben: "Go to Church... and i say this as a Jew.. Go to Church"

8. One of the most prominent figures in the right wing sphere who saw Ben Shapiro as a major inspiration was Charlie Kirk.

After his tragic death, some people tried to claim that Charlie opposed Ben, but nothing could be further from the truth.

9. Alongside the growing divide on the right, another major problem has become increasingly clear. Many people seem unable to condemn figures who are supposedly on their side, holding back out of a misguided sense of loyalty or friendship. They forget that in a career tied to politics, refusing to challenge bad ideas even within one’s own circle can be deeply damaging.

Very few commentators have had the courage to call this out, but Ben Shapiro has. In this example he addresses the issue directly with Megyn Kelly and delivers a powerful statement, one that will almost certainly be quoted for years to come.

“Friendship should not trump our manifest requirement to speak out when people do and say things that are both detrimental to conservatism and morally wrong.”

10. Outside of political commentary, Ben is also an accomplished musician.

He grew up studying classical music, trained as a singer, and became highly skilled at playing the violin.

From a young age he performed at community events and concerts, and his musical background remains one of the lesser known but genuinely impressive parts of his life.

11. Despite stating that he is in no way a fan of the genre, Ben has dabbled in hip hop and even rapped, collaborating with Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald and appearing in the music video for their track together.

12. In addition to his first book mentioned earlier, which was written and released at the age of twenty, Ben has also written and published several other works over the years.

Some of his most recognised titles include Brainwashed, Porn Generation, Bullies, The People vs Barack Obama, The Right Side of History, and Lions and Scavengers.

These books explore themes ranging from media bias to cultural change and the philosophical roots of Western civilisation, further establishing him as a significant voice in modern conservative thought.

13. Whether people agree with him or not, Ben’s presence and influence in American political discourse is undeniable.

He helped shape a new generation of online conservative communication, built one of the largest right leaning media companies in the world, and continues to play a major role in cultural and political conversations.

Now, many would agree that his voice is needed more than ever.
