The largest, supposedly "conservative," business lobbying org in DC has been taken over by the radical left...
They now use their power/influence to actively push a far-left, woke agenda.
It's time that someone told the truth about the @USChamber 🧵
The @USChamber was started in 1912, modeled after a vision for national commerce laid out by then Republican President William Howard Taft.
Taft was pro-business and believed that free markets, free enterprise and minimal regulation could drive economic growth.
The Chamber was modeled after this vision.

@USChamber The modern @USChamber shares almost no resemblance to the vision laid out by Taft.
It no longer acts as voice for business, instead it acts as voice for the radical left — using its power to force businesses into compliance with far-left dictates.

This erosion of values has been happening for quite some time, but the institutional rot became most evident over the last decade.
@USChamber has played a key role in pushing DEI, ESG and climate hysteria onto corporate America.
And we've got the receipts to prove it ⬇️

Let's start with @USChamber's DEI activism:
Since as early as 2016, the Chamber has been very vocal about their DEI activism...
And, following the death of George Floyd and the "mostly peaceful" riots of 2020, they really kicked their activism into overdrive.
They've helped give out millons in openly discriminatory race-based grants, supported the infamous and failed "Equality Act," launched a DEI initiative called the "Equality of Opportunity Initative," hosted countless speeches and roundtables on DEI, and developed a myriad of resources on "The Business of Diversity."
They've stated that they believe it's both a moral and economic imperative for every business to focus on DEI — and they've encouraged companies to push for both "private and public sector solutions" to address the alleged "opportunity gap."
They claim the "opportunity gap" is "driving inequality of opportunity for Black Americans and other people of color" and the only way to remedy this is for businesses to focus on finding "sustainable solutions" to gaps in 6 key areas "education, employment, entrepreneurship, criminal justice, health, and wealth."
It's no wonder corporate America has adopted DEI en masse, when the Chamber "represents" over 3 million businesses, many of which are dues-paying members.
They operate very similarly to the the UN-backed groups that we've seen crumble as of late (like GFANZ), and, though their commitment to action is largely unspoken, the end result couldn't be more clear: if you don’t comply with their ideological dictates, you will become the subject of their pressure campaigns and harassment by far-left activists.

While on the subject of DEI, it's important to point out the @USChamber's ties to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
LCLD is like the Chamber of Commerce, but specifically for law firms and in-house corporate legal departments. Their membership includes heads of some of the nation's largest law firms and a litany of corporate general counsels, spanning the Fortune 500.
They push the same woke agenda items and have been on the forefront of forcing discriminatory DEI programs into nearly every major American company.
In fact, Mark Roellig, who's featured in the video below, was both a Board Member of LCLD and an active member/speaker at Chamber events.

Next, let's talk about @USChamber's ESG activism and their promotion of climate hysteria:
They make very clear where they stand, stating plainly: "Our climate is changing and humans are contributing to these changes. Inaction is simply not an option."
They also make clear that they believe corporate America plays a key role in "delivering climate solutions."
In a prominent blog post on their website, the action proposed for "delivering climate solutions" is "fostering a sustainable and inclusive energy future."
What does this mean? The base claim is that the solution to climate change is a transition to Green New Deal-style policy prescriptions, BUT only if done in an "inclusive" way. To do this, it's proposed that energy companies must prioritize injecting DEI into all aspects of the energy industry.
The ways recommended for injecting DEI into all aspects of the energy industry are increasing "supplier diversity," expanding diversity programs, hosting identity-based Employee Resources Groups, and partnering with the Urban League and NAACP for workforce development.
It's all nonsense.
They also brag about being regular attendees of the UN's Climate Change Conference of the Parties, better known as COP, where national leaders and business leaders pledge their allegiance to the climate cult and promise to take action to deliver on the climate cult's aims.

If that wasn't enough to convince you of the @USChamber's institutional rot, allow me to introduce you to the Chamber's latest fight:
They've recently decided to begin attacking litigation financing — one of the most funamental tools in our fight against woke capitalism.
Litigation financing is ciritcal. It allows David to take on Goliath in the legal arena; giving everyday Americans, who dare to resist having radical policies forced down their throats, the support they need to challenge massive woke corporations.
The Chamber has aligned themselves with the massive woke corporations that want to undermine this critical tool, further consolidate their power, and increase their ability to crush the little guy.

Now, I have to ask, does any of this sound conservative?
Does any of this sound like @USChamber is being a voice for what businesses want and need in Washington?
Does any of this appear to have anything to do with free markets, free enterprise, minimal regulation and driving economic growth?
The answer is obviously no.

@USChamber The institutional rot inside of the @USChamber couldn't be more clear.
They no longer speak FOR businesses, they are the voice for the radical left TO businesses.
No self-respecting conservative should have anything to do with the Chamber of Commerce.
