Today looked more like Gotham City than The Emerald City. Drug scenes have exploded throughout Beacon Hill, Mt. Baker, in our parks, and on sidewalks. @MayorofSeattle has set the tone that she will not sweep encampments. I’d like to see legislation that providers steeper penalties for narcotic use in parks, near schools, libraries, daycare centers and within 500 feet of business and resident entryways. Instead, at best, there may be arrest or diversion to the LEAD program. @WeAre_PDA How will LEAD keep up with these referrals? How does it work? What are the nuts and bolts of arrest, and divert? Are the parks going to be a waiting room until what? We need clearer answers.
Nothing to see here. I’m debating if I want to pick up all the garbage these next four years and just let it go. Focus on the people who want treatment and share content. @MayorofSeattle Thoughts? More We Heart Seattle clean ups or less? We had is cleaned and in maintenance mode and now this 👇🏼
@MayorofSeattle People are mailing me garbage bags si I guess that answers my question. The truth lies beneath the trash and we will continue to clean up Seattle.
@MayorofSeattle Gloves, shovels and first aid kids flowing in to keep the cleaning alive!
