Sintana Energy has officially resolved its legacy Colombian arbitration with ExxonMobil for $9M:
- $3M cash payment within 60 days.
- $6M due by Q4 2026, pending regulatory sign-off.
This capital funds Sintana's share of upcoming 2026-2027 drilling.

In Namibia, Chevron is moving toward a massive campaign:
- #PEL82: The "Gemsbok" exploration well is planned for 2026-2027. Sintana is carried.
- #PEL90: Another exploration well is in preparation and could be completed in 2026. Sintana isn't carried.
In parallel, TotalEnergies and Galp are accelerating the Orange Basin development with meetings with the Namibian President.
Total is pushing for a FID on Venus by year-end, while preparing a multi-well appraisal program at Mopane that could begin this year to delineate the scale
The Namibian government is currently reviewing the 1991 Petroleum Act to establish an independent regulatory authority. Operators like Total have explicitly linked FID to new fiscal stability clauses. This provides the long-term certainty needed for multi-billion dollar capex.
For PEL 87, Pancontinental $PCL.AX recently applied for a 12-month license extension through October 2026. While they continue to upgrade resource estimates for the different prospects, the resource growth is largely a paper exercise until a major partner farms in.
Uruguay is emerging as another top-tier jurisdiction. Sintana aims to close the OFF-3 farm-out this year. Multiple majors are reportedly in the data room. Closing this deal would provide immediate certainty for the next phase of exploration in the Pelotas Basin.
The most immediate neighborly catalyst in Uruguay are the new 3D seismic data campaign and APA Corporation's exploratory well in OFF-6 during the second half of 2026. A discovery there would immediately re-rate the value of Sintana’s adjacent acreage, particularly OFF-3.
Sintana entered Angola through a strategic partnership with Corcel PLC $CRCL.L. This includes acquiring a 5% interest in Block KON-16 (onshore Kwanza Basin).
Corcel is currently conducting a 326 km 2D seismic survey and planning an exploration well for 2027.
In summary, Sintana is now a carried partner in the world-class Mopane discovery, with multiple growth opportunities in Namibia, Uruguay and Angola. It also offers good exposure to high-impact discoveries for the 2026–2027 period.
