Hi I will be live reporting today's Regular Meeting of the 11th Police District Council for the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability @CHIdocumenters

The meeting is held at Legler Library at 115 S Pulaski, and scheduled to begin at 6:30pm

From the 11th District Council website ():

The Agenda for today’s meeting is pictured below:

The meeting is called to order at 6:36pm. Chair Bryan Ramson is present, along with Nominating Committee Member Jocelyn Woodards

The Agenda for today and the minutes from the Council's January 12, 2026 meeting are approved by the two members.

There are no public commenters today. There is usually a report on prevalent trends and concerns in the district, but today there isn't.

Ramson brings up for discussion the news that Chicago's murder rate was below 500 in 2025, which is low for the city.

Local reporting on this: blockclubchicago.org/2026/01/02/chi…

Ramson asks of the group, "Do you feel safer?"

Someone comments that ICE has been doing enough killing on their own, also highlighting the frequency of them hiding their faces. This sparks a discussion on the presence of ICE in the community and how they make people feel unsafe

Jocelyn Woodards reports that applications for the three CCPSA vacancies are closed, and that interviews will be conducted soon.

A list of candidates will be provided to Mayor Johnson to make a decision.

Community Engagement Alees Edwards is not present today, and there are no representatives from CPD present. Ramson does not have a presentation to give.

There is a study group preceding this meeting, beginning at 5:30pm. It is open to the public.

Woodards announces that in in honor of Women's History Month in March, the group will study what's happening for Black women in the U.S.

Ramson says the next meeting with likely be on March 14. The meeting is adjourned at 6:50pm
