That a challenge?
Alright then 😊😊😊
🧵debunking this below ⬇️
This is the first claim that's argued here and wow, we are starting off with the stupidity real quick. Let's explain why this doesn't work and provide evidence
The notion that reality "shapes norms" is a false claim. Psychologists and various institutions have done research on this very topic and they've came to a very similar conclusion, which is that fiction doesn't influence people in that way
This is also consistent with older research, such as ones done by Doskoch, in which it was suggested that only 22% of child molesters actually had fantasies of children before doing their crime
This flies in the face of fiction normalizing behaviors
Also, the same thing holds true for violence in video games, in which the evidence suggesting these shape behavioral norms is unproven
I can link studies for days but the bottom line is that fiction can't influence you in the way this "debunk" suggests
We move onto the second claim and man... We are really still arguing the "fiction affects reality" bullshit? Look, fiction can affect reality but like, it doesn't work in the way described here and here's why lol
First off, "attracting predatory individuals" applies to ANYTHING. Groomers and bad actors can use ANY and EVERYTHING to harm children.
This is not exclusive to dark fiction or taboo fiction. Saying that fiction alone does this is just plain wrong but also dangerous rhetoric
Secondly, there's no evidence that fiction does that alone. You have not only failed to substantiate fiction normalizes anything but you also neglect to mention that evidence directly runs counter to this notion
The third claim is very interesting because yes, people can separate fiction from reality, as early as 5 years old actually and in fact, the inability to make a distinction between the two is defined as psychosis
So yeah, you're just mentally ill...
It's also worth noting that the emotions we feel for fiction characters are not actual emotions that exist outside of thought-imagination
tl;'dr the layer of fictionality adds nuance in emotions that don't represent what we really feel in reality
The fourth claim is just flat out not true, there's actually plenty of evidence of suggesting this

The fifth claim is just flat out not even true as history has shown consistently that when people target the arts, it's a slippery slope from there
Having fiction, even if it's taboo is a core part of democracy and so targeting it is also a slippery slope to losing freedom of speech
This doesn't require studies but just knowing your basic history to know that this happens very consistently
The sixth claim is wrong because all forms of satisfaction and pleasure, whether it's sexual or not, comes from dopamine and can be attributed to same chemicals that make no distinction between the "different" pleasures
The seventh and eighth claims are interesting because I like how we are using diagnoses and psychology when that's the very thing that debunks you lol
That said, yeah, Anti's tend to be pedophiles on average compared to proshippers/profict/lolisho folk

Here's also some threads to showcase Anti's tending to be very awful individuals and fascist rooted in terms of their language and beliefs
Point is, Antis are objectively more heinous than any Proshipper

The ninth and tenth claim is interesting because don't Anti on average tend to side with people against proshippers, EVEN if they are legit predators, pedophiles, rapists or just overall immoral people?
The final claim is a very interesting one because what this is essentially doing is invalidating the experiences of victims and honestly, it's fucking disgusting and gross, especially since I have friends who are CSA victims and genuine victims of rape
Taboo fantasies and fiction has CONSISTENTLY been shown to be a valuable tool for coping and healing, as I've demonstrated above but also here's some more sources that prove my point
In the end, acting as if you know more than researchers and professionals in the field is a sure fire way to indicate you are below average intelligence and probably are mentally ill
Anyways, this graphic hasn't brought up stuff that hasn't already been refuted by proshippers
