He is believed to be the combined manifestation of
Brahma,
Vishnu, and
Shiva.

His name itself carries meaning.
“Datta” means the one who is given.
“Atreya” means son of sage Atri.
Born to the great sage
Atri
and the divine mother
Anasuya.
A child born from tapas, purity, and divine grace.
Dattatreya is usually depicted with three heads and six hands.
The three heads symbolize the wisdom of the Trimurti.
