2013-14: She did on-ground research in Gujarat, interviewed everyone (including Muslims), wrote the book Modi, Muslims and Media and publicly defended Narendra Modi against 2002 riot allegations. She became one of his strongest non-BJP voices before the 2014 elections.

May 2014 onwards: As soon as Modi became PM & started distributing posts & ministries, Kishwar went silent on him. Now in 2026 she openly admits she was traumatised by whispers about Modi’s personal life and names of women who became MPs/ministers due to intimacy.

She is openly naming/implicating:
- Hardeep Puri (special services while Gujarat CM)
- Smriti Irani (12th-pass appointment gave credence to scandals)
- Anandiben Patel (her husband’s old allegations + gory dimensions Kishwar claims she heard)
- Mansi Soni (Supreme Court papers she says she was shown)
- Plus unnamed 3-4 women MPs/ministers (echoing Swamy).
Zero proof, only Sanghi whispers and US lecture gossip. Classic case of someone who expected a seat, Rajya Sabha nomination or some position in return for her 2014 support and when it wasn’t given, the mask came off.
