Conversations of Truth
She had joined a popular only female group on Facebook a couple of years ago.
The woman who invited her had told her it was a 'safe space' where women could talk and be heard.
Everyone was equal and she would learn from others
When she was admitted into the group after answering a questionnaire, she was warmly welcomed.
Oh! Nothing could beat that joy she felt seeing women supporting women.
She saw women of means - bankers, investors, businesswomen and all you could imagine.
They even had talks and seminars.
It was a powerful group.
However, it didn't take long for the wolves to come out. They would drop sensitive matters as it related to men and then she would see some takes.
They were comments filled with bile and toxic takes.
Some went as far as suggesting that men should also be met with the violence they dole out.
Sometimes, the moderator would try to deal with the matter but many times, she didn't have control.
The moderator even had sub- moderators but it was still difficult.
The thing about such groups is that once you're in, it would take the mercy of God to come out and even when you're out, you'll need the fire of God to purge you.
She didn't know how she began reading different articles from men haters.
Their ideology was seeping into her.
Even as a Christian, she knew some of what she read was absolute rubbish but it was new to her and in a way, exciting.
Then she began having resentment towards men.
It was subtle, initially, however, it became something else when her brothers began to complain.
Her relationship now began suffering.
One day, she was discussing with her fiancé and it was a matter of cooking.
The next thing she remembered was pulling a knife and almost stabbing him.
It was just reflex that made him dodge it and shout her name before she...
... came to her senses.
She dropped the knife and walked away.
It was then she knew something was possessing her.
However, deep down, she was elated at the rush of blood when she almost stabbed him.
Her fiancé called that night and ended everything.
It wasn't long she became erratic and began displaying traces of violence even in the office.
She was fired.
Her parents noticed her talking to herself and gradually she deteriorated and had to be placed in an institution.
It was a sad development for a brilliant mind.
After much treatment, the Doctors placed her on certain drugs that dulled her.
She barely spoke and her responses were very slow.
One day, a friend came visiting and as they spoke, she told her of the Holy Spirit and what He alone is capable of.
Her friend told her that she would connect for a meeting and the teaching for the month was centered on the Holy Spirit.
As they listened, her eyes began opening.
As the minister spoke, he stopped and began speaking of someone with a mental issue but wasn't born that way.
He explained that God is able to set her free and that God will do it now.
He commanded the strange demon to get out.
As he said this, she jerked, screamed and thrashed a bit before she finally became calm and said : I AM FREE!

... Of the hand of God is power to deliver from the forces of darkness!
I don't know what you may have found yourself in but tonight, the hand of God shall deliver you totally.
That allegation at your office is hereby silenced.
That scourge of the tongue is silenced.
Today, by the freedom in Christ, I command mental afflictions - known and unknown to be bound permanently in Jesus name.
Your body is made whole.
Your mind is made whole.
Your path is straightened in Jesus name.
