Imagine waking up to death threats and thousands of strangers calling you a criminal—all because of your Facebook profile picture. 😱📸

A Malaysian couple is living a nightmare after scammers "hijacked" their family photo to run a fake catering business. They aren’t the scammers; they are the victims of identity theft.

👇🏼

How it happened:
1. The Trap: Scammers used Mr. Tan’s photo to sell "too good to be true" catering packages on FB.

2. The Reveal: Victims paid via QR codes to random accounts, but no food ever arrived.

3. The Fallout: Thinking Mr. Tan was the mastermind, victims tracked him down online to harass & threaten his family.

4. The Reality: Mr. Tan is a sales manager with zero links to food industry. He even set his profile to "Private," BUT scammers can still scrape profile photos.

This is a wake-up call for all of us. How often do you check if the bank account name matches the business page before hitting "Pay"? 💸
