Hi, I’ll be live-tweeting today’s Near Eastside Community Organization meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. for #indydocumenters @indydocumenters @mirrorindy.

@indydocumenters @mirrorindy NESCO’s Board of Directors represents the 19 neighborhoods that make up the Near Eastside.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Their board meetings are open to the public — held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. They meet at Englewood Christian Church (57 N. Rural Street) and online. Everyone’s welcome to listen, ask questions, and get involved.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Here is a copy of the agenda for today's meeting.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Meeting started promptly at 6:30 p.m.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Chris Staab, NESCO president issued a roll call, announced the death of a past committee member/resident, and wished @mirrorindy a happy 3rd birthday!
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Next, Staab talked about the Land Use Committee and the legal case of 3401 New York St. non-compliance continued to June 24th. The owner can cease and desist operations or rezone.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Clif Marsiglio, CRDC (Community Resource Council District) chair, discussed the next meeting date for the CRDC, which is June 4th at 6:30 at Westminster Neighborhood Services.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Next, the board talked about the Fund Raising Committee, and brought up some ideas for raising money.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Si Greenes pub at E. 10th St. and Emerson Ave will be closing their doors, their last day will be this Saturday the 30th of May. This news personally affected me because I used to play pool and enjoy the Gene Deer Band with a very dear friend about 25 years ago at that bar!
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Next, the group discussed new and continuing business beginning with NESCO's role in the Quality of Life Plan.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Currently, the John Bonner Center has ownership of the Quality of Life Plan, however the NESCO board members would like to be able to contribute and be a part of the plan.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Next month the Indianapolis Foundation wants to come talk to NESCO about the conservation of Pogues Run waterway water quality, land use, and community health indicators.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Emerson Heights will be having a flea market on May 29th, 30th and 32st. Woodruff Place will be having their flea market on June 6th and 7th. Also, Cottage Home will be having a Home and Garden tour on June 20th.
