🧵2/12 2014: Fauci's NIAID gives a nonprofit called EcoHealth Alliance a $3.75M grant to study bat coronaviruses. About $750k of it goes straight to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Five years before the outbreak starts in that exact city.
🧵3/12 That was one stream of many. USAID poured over $53M into EcoHealth across the years. The Pentagon kicked in around $42M. Peter Daszak's group was the bridge between American money and the Wuhan lab. Remember his name, he keeps showing up.
🧵4/12 Meanwhile a UNC virologist, Ralph Baric, was building coronaviruses from scratch. In 2018 he, EcoHealth, and the Wuhan lab asked DARPA for $14M to insert furin cleavage sites into bat viruses. DARPA said no. That feature is the one thing on COVID nobody has ever found in nature.
🧵5/12 Then COVID surfaces in Wuhan. On a Feb 1, 2020 call, Fauci and a handful of top virologists privately put a lab origin around 60-70%. Within days the public line flipped the other way. Daszak organized a Lancet letter calling lab talk a conspiracy theory, and left out that he funded the lab.
🧵6/12 While that was happening out front, the Energy Department's weapons analysts at Lawrence Livermore quietly concluded in May 2020 that every condition for a lab accident was present in Wuhan in late 2019. They even flagged a close precursor virus there. The report sat in a drawer for six years.
🧵7/12 In 2022 a former EcoHealth VP, Andrew Huff, said Daszak told him more than once that he was working with the CIA, and that EcoHealth had pitched the CIA's venture arm on virus hunting. Those are Huff's allegations, unconfirmed. But USAID's documented intel history is why people don't just wave it off.
🧵8/12 Under oath in 2021, Fauci said NIH "never" funded gain-of-function at Wuhan. That October his own NIH deputy put it in writing that it had. In a deposition he said he'd never talked to intelligence about origins. The declassified files later show him recommending the experts for the intel review.
🧵9/12 Where it's landed: EcoHealth and Daszak banned from federal money. Fauci's senior advisor, David Morens, federally indicted for hiding records through his personal Gmail. Baric facing debarment with his lab notebooks still locked away.
🧵10/12 Then it really cracked. A career CIA officer, James Erdman, testified in public in May that the agency buried what its own analysts believed. In June, Gabbard declassified hundreds of pages on Fauci's role on her way out the door. The CIA quietly clawed back 40 boxes of documents.
🧵11/12 Biden's autopen pardon shields Fauci through Jan 19, 2025. His 2024 testimony, denying intel involvement all over again, falls outside it. As Gabbard put it: "He lied to Congress in 2024. There is a path." He's now been subpoenaed to the Senate.
