I just read about a phenomenon I can't stop thinking about:

"The Red Car Theory"

But now, suddenly, they’re everywhere.

It feels like the universe is sending you a sign.

But it’s not the universe.
It’s your brain.

This is called the **Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon** or **Frequency Illusion**.

Your brain filters out most of the information around you.

But once something becomes important to you, it lifts the filter.

You start noticing it everywhere.

This doesn’t just happen with cars.

The RAS decides what’s important and what gets ignored.

It’s why you can hear your name in a noisy crowd but tune out everything else.

It’s why pregnant women suddenly see baby strollers everywhere.

It’s why focusing on negativity makes your life feel worse.

And here’s where it gets life-changing:

You can **train** your RAS.

You can program your brain to notice **opportunities, solutions, and success** instead of problems and failures.

This is how high achievers create their own luck.

Think about this:

- Ever had a great idea, then suddenly see others doing it?
- Ever started learning something new, then it shows up everywhere?
- Ever been in a bad mood, then everything around you makes it worse?

That’s your RAS at work.

Most people let their RAS control them.

They focus on fears, failures, and doubts—so their brain shows them **more of the same**.

Successful people **train their brain** to focus on opportunities, growth, and solutions.

And it changes everything.

Here’s the science:

Your brain has **neuroplasticity**—meaning it can rewire itself based on what you focus on.
The more you think about something, the stronger those neural pathways become.

Your thoughts literally reshape your reality.

Let’s do an experiment:

For the next 24 hours, **pick something specific** to notice.

It could be a certain word, a type of animal, or an opportunity.

Watch how it suddenly starts appearing everywhere.

Your brain is more powerful than you realize.

This is why affirmations, visualization, and goal-setting work.

When you consistently think about a goal, your brain starts **noticing ways to achieve it**.

The opportunities were always there—you just weren’t seeing them before.

But here’s the catch:

It works both ways.

If you focus on negativity, your brain will find **more reasons to be negative**.

If you focus on why you’re stuck, your brain will show you **proof that you can’t move forward**.

This is why gratitude is so powerful.

When you consciously look for things to be grateful for, your RAS starts **noticing even more things to appreciate**.
