Mike grew up in Winfield, Alabama. He played both wide receiver & running back for Winfield High School football team.

Mike graduated @AuburnU w degree in criminal justice in 1992. Before graduating, he joined the @USMC as an artillery specialist.

He spent eight years in the Marines, rising to the rank of captain, then Mike joined CIA in 1999 as a paramilitary officer.

Mike deployed in fall of 2001 to fortress of Qali-Jangi at Mazar-e Sharif, where Taliban prisoners were being held & questioned.

25 NOV 2001: Mike was interviewing a group of extremists when 100s of prisoners revolted. He was attacked & killed.
