Selling policies across state lines will not do a damn thing. Georgia has offered this for 5 years & not 1 insurer has offered a plan. /2
This is because insurance is based on a shared risk pool. This means that people who have high healthcare costs are in the same plan as /3
people who have low healthcare costs. When people have the choice to choose a plan specific to their medical needs, you have "adverse /4
selection". If u want 2 have a baby & have infertility issues, u will pick a plan that covers IVF at $30k+ per attempt. Plans become /5
financially unstable. Premiums skyrocket to unattainable amounts. The plan collapses under the cost. As an underwriter this is a LARGE /6
part of my job. Make sure that the plan my company is offering in every market covers the same services as competitor plans in the same /7
market. The industry will NOT allow this to happen because they will loose $. The plans will not be financially stable. So unless Repubs /8
plan on offering Medicare For All plans, this is a non-starter. It means NOTHING! Trump doesn't have a clue what he's babbling about. He /9
has 3 goals:
- undo everything Obama
- make $ 4 the #TrumpCrimeFamily
- cut healthcare spending to fund his wealthy tax cut (for Koch's /10
and Mercer's) & his GD stupid wall!
He is the ultimate #ConMan
Call it what it is #Trumpcare because #Obamacare is dead.
