Trump begins by calling his Asia trip "historic."

Trump says America's standing in the world has never been stronger, though Pew's global polls show its reputation has plummeted since his election.

Trump lists a bunch of world problems, then blames them on "indifference and neglect," "naive thinking and misguided judgment" from previous administrations.

"We have dealt ISIS one crushing defeat after another," Trump says, sort of suggesting it's because he urged Muslim countries to drive out terrorists.

Trump gives himself credit for allies investing in their militaries, and then ad-libs, "NATO, believe me, is very happy with Donald Trump and what I did."

Trump says America is finally insisting on "fair and reciprocal trade."

"A firm warning," he says, to "every country that cheats, breaks the rules and engages in economic aggression, like they've been doing in the past, espcially in the recent past."

For the sixth time in office, Trump falsely claims the US's global trade deficit is $800 billion. It was $502 billion last year, $750 billion if you don't count services trade.

In case anyone was wondering, this is not a "major statement." This is like when the teacher makes the kid who went on a safari do a show-and-tell when he comes back.

"I spoke the truth about the evil crimes of the North Korean regime," Trump says. He calls on its neighbours to cut off all trade.

Trump boasts about the pomp he was greeted with in China: "We were greatly honoured by the splendour of our reception."

Trump, in a possible tribute to Marco Rubio, has paused twice to take big gulps from a bottle of water.

This is possibly the most boring speech of Trump's presidency. It's a press release out loud.

Trump says he is succeeding in "reawakening American confidence."
