1/ Stephen Paddock was not a conspiracy nut as this article claims:

"In the documents, those who encountered gunman Stephen Paddock say he expressed conspiratorial, anti-government beliefs characteristic of the far right"

2/ The article cites two witnesses. Let's deal with them one at a time. #1: "One woman says she sat near Paddock in a diner just a few days before the shooting"

She was very specific about the date and time. It was 9/28, between 4 and 6pm.

It was not Paddock. She was mistaken.
3/ Paddock was 90 miles away in Mesquite during that entire time. He didn't return to Las Vegas until 9:46pm when he was seen bringing two more suitcases up to his room. A half hour later he started gambling in the casino where he stayed all night.

One down, one to go.
4/ #2: "A man says he met Paddock 3 wks before the shooting… He was selling diagrams for a device that would convert semi-auto to full auto. Paddock asked him to make the device and the man refused. At this point Paddock launched into a rant about "anti-govt stuff… Fema camps."
5/ Note the words: at this point
It was at the point that the man selling illegal gun stuff in a dark parking lot became uncooperative that Paddock started spouting stuff that, stereotypically, one might imagine people who sell illegal gun stuff in dark parking lots might embrace
6/ Fema camps? C'mon. That's so cliché it's absurd.

Which option is more likely? A) That the introvert who is so secretive and reserved that not even his friends know his politics suddenly opened up to a complete stranger in a dark parking lot who had just refused his request.
7/ or B) That Paddock thought sketchy black market gun parts dealer might be a "far right" conspiracy nut, and having just been rebuffed, tried a ham-handed bonding exercise as a last-ditch effort to obtain the desired cooperation?
8/ Finally, if Paddock himself was "far right" as the article says, why would he select a target group composed of mostly people on the right?
