Dear @NGRPresident, Your statement is false and Wrong

"For the first time, 30% of the budget was earmarked for capital expenditure which ..."

In 2013, capital component of the budget was 31.9%

Promising to spend is not the same thing as spending.

In 2016, only N173bn was spent on capital items representing 3.94%
capital spending in 2016 at 3.94% is the lowest since 1961...

data-savvy people can fact-check here:……
See actual capital expenditure spending against Actual spending(Budget Size)

2004 - 2015

Clearly, Since the return to democracy, @NGRPresident 's government spent the least on capital expenditure...

Nigerian must be aware of that...

forget the figures thrown at everybody

Until fund is utilised, nothing gets done...No spending occur
2017 is not different

only N147.11bn was spent on capital items as against the total of N4.9tn spent in the year -- that comes to only 3% of expenditure.

A new low in the history of Nigeria.
Thus, President Buhari's speech is wrong, misleading and outrightly false.

Information from the CBN and Budget office is clear enough.

It is crucial that media organisation - don't go to press with the lies.
