1/ Thread follows.
2/ I'm going to try to do this without swearing, but... man, this crap really irritates me, so no promises.
3/ I have had it up to *here* [gestures at eyebrow-level] with people hauling out the "Hitler" label and equating policies they don't like to Nazism. I have studied history since I began reading as a child.
4/ These claims are ahistorical horse crap, and people making these claims are either grotesquely ignorant, or they are deliberately lying.
5/ Either from ignorance or dishonesty, the Left seriously loves to use the "Nazi" label to smear their opponents. They treat it as a cudgel to attack and silence all dissent from their agenda.
6/ (Never mind the actual socialist underpinnings of Nazism.) It is a short step from "it's OK to punch a Nazi" to "everyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi," thus making it OK to sic the mob on them. See also: Antifa and BAMN.
7/ This particularly applies to the current manufactured hubbub surrounding illegal alien detention - something that has been the law of the land for 20+ years, signed into law by Bill Clinton, and the subject of a Consent Decree from the 9th Circuit Court.
8/ This isn't new, though you would never know that if you had to rely on the media for your facts. The media is not, and has not been for many years, in the business of providing all the facts.
9/ As writer Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) has noted, "Modern journalism is all about deciding which facts the public shouldn't know because they might reflect badly on Democrats."
@jtLOL 10/ For eight years we got ritual tongue-bathing of Obama, but since they obviously and actively hate Trump, something that has been going on for years is suddenly the crisis to end all crises.
@jtLOL 11/ It isn't.
@jtLOL 12/ And yet, we're hearing cries of "Nazi!" over this. People are calling the immigrant detention centers "concentration camps."
@jtLOL 13/ People are equating Border Patrol and ICE agents with concentration camp guards and the Gestapo, and children being temporarily separated from their parents with the worst abuses at Auschwitz.
@jtLOL 14/ This is a very, very steep hill to climb, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so lets look at the facts, past and present.
@jtLOL 15/ So let's examine what the Nazis actually did, compared to what is happening at the border.
@jtLOL 16/ The Nazis didn't arrest people who were trying to sneak into Germany. No, they went to their homes and dragged them out, allowing each person one packed bag, and told them they were being relocated.
@jtLOL 17/ The people were then packed like sardines onto trains and shipped off to the various camps. Many people died on the trains; they were often packed so tightly they could not breathe.
@jtLOL 18/ At the height of the period of Nazi atrocities, arrival at one of the camps would go something like this: the people, miserable and filthy from their trip, would detrain and be met by officers of the SS, where the culling - there's no other word for it - would begin.
@jtLOL 19/ Those deemed to be healthy and useful enough to be worked to death would be moved to one side. This, within sight of a sign that read "Arbeit Macht Frei."
@jtLOL 20/ The very young, the very old, and those who like me were disabled would be sorted to the other side.
Occasionally, an SS "doctor" would select some of these unfortunates to use in "research."
@jtLOL 21/ If you don't know the name Josef Mengele, go to your high school and sue them for malpractice. They failed you.
@jtLOL 22/ The remainder were told they would be de-loused, were stripped of their belongings and clothing, and led off to the showers... where they were gassed to death. It really did happen that quickly.
@jtLOL 23/ Now....
@jtLOL 24/ In present-day America, people coming to a Port of Entry are given temporary asylum and released until their status is determined in an immigration court. This isn't even slightly problematic.
@jtLOL 25/ On the other hand, people who are caught crossing illegally are arrested (because it is, y'know, illegal) and incarcerated until their status is determined and they are either given temporary asylum pending a court date, or deported.
@jtLOL 26/ The law is clear, and says that children may not be incarcerated with their parents, so what is to be done with them? They cannot be turned loose on the streets unaccompanied - that would be insane. They have to be housed and supervised. Is this ideal? No, not even close.
@jtLOL 27/ But the fault doesn't lie with the law or those who enforce it. Responsibility is squarely on those who break the law.
@jtLOL 28/ Let's also remember that many of the minors crossing illegally are not in fact accompanying their parents. They're often in the hands of "coyotes" - human smugglers - who care only about the payday they expect for getting the kids across the border.
@jtLOL 29/ Those kids cannot be left to the tender mercies of the coyotes. So, they get housed by ICE until they can be united with their parents. This is what any normal person would consider to be a reasonable and humane thing to do with children.
@jtLOL 30/ If there is any genuine problem, it is the vast numbers of kids who need to be housed until they can be reunited with their parents.
@jtLOL 31/ In Nazi Germany, not so much.
@jtLOL 32/ So don't you fucking DARE to compare what is happening at our borders with what the Nazis did.

I said I'd try to avoid the swearing. Too bad. If you are either lying about it or ignorant enough to make the comparison, I don't care about your delicate sensitivities.
@jtLOL 33/ To all others, I apologize. You might just be able to tell how seriously I take this.
@jtLOL 34/ I didn't vote for Trump - I was a Cruz guy. And in California my vote wouldn't count for anything anyway.
@jtLOL 35/ But I swear, the dishonesty, lunacy, and sheer hatred coming from the Left is going to make me vote for him next time, if for no other reason than to see the lying Left defeated and broken.
@jtLOL 36/ End thread.
