Not to be overly contrarian here, but lobbyists are handsomely compensated to be just that. Policy experts

And I don't think @DLoesch is a lobbyist. She's a spokeswoman. That is, someone who gets paid to go on TV and publicly represent a position.

this is one of the things political communicators do. It's a simple formula.

[Thing that is bad -> lobbyists] + [Thing that is bad -> inexperience] + [controversial political thing -> guns, fox news] = message.

It works because people go for it.
note that factual accuracy is not a variable in the equation.
