Roger Stone was communicating directly with GRU or its intermediary, Wikileaks, while the GRU was still hacking Democrats. That’s stunning.
August 8, 2016: "I actually have communicated with Assange. I believe the next tranche of his documents pertain to the Clinton Foundation.” (They are, published in October.) mediamatters.org/video/2016/08/…
August 14: Stone direct messages GRU Col. Osadchuk or Col. Potemkin, a.k.a. Guccifer 2.0.
September: GRU “also successfully gained access to DNC computers hosted on a third-party cloud-computing service,” according to the indictment.
Sept. 18: Stone tries to reach Wikileaks through Randy Credico: “Please ask Assange for any State or HRC e-mail from August 10 to August 30—particularly on August 20, 2011.” wsj.com/articles/roger…
October 2: Stone told InfoWars “an intermediary met with him [Assange] in London recently who is a friend of mine…. I am assured that the mother lode is coming Wednesday.”

October 7: Two days after Stone’s predicted date, Wikileaks publishes emails from John Podesta hacked by the GRU.
As @kpoulsen points out, GRU malware remained on the DNC network until October. thedailybeast.com/russian-hacker…
None of this means Stone was directing the Russian election operation, but he was part of it. How naiveté could a dirty trickster like him be?
