What does being DIALED IN mean to you?

You're probably thinking:
• Good career
• Good friends
• Healthy relationship
• Being reasonably fit
• Having some 💰

Sure, those are pillars of a DIALED IN life, but HOW do you achieve those?

Not enough people talk about that.
One of the first things to understand is how to develop keystone habits -- habits that positively influence multiple pillars of your life...

Things like family dinners. Kids in families that eat dinner together have higher grades, greater emotional control, and more confidence."
Professor @bjfogg's "Tiny Habits," & @cduhigg's "The Power of Habits" are two of the best resources you'll find on habits.

There are 3 parts to habits: cues, routines and rewards.

Change behaviors into habits and you're golden.

"The Power of Habits" -->
Okay, so you're changing behaviors into habits and freeing up additional willpower.

Now what?

Learn how to learn. It amazes me how awful people are at learning.

Try this approach:
Set goals → Get Feedback → Focus/Do the Work → Have a Coach/Mentor help expedite the process.
"I don't need a coach, I read books and articles on the Internet."

GTFO with that nonsense. Virtually *all* top performers (athletes, singers, business people) have a coach:

Get better at making decisions.

Learn to use decision trees, explore biases, and understand the difference between reversible and irreversible decisions.

@farnamstreet's page of mental models is a great place to start:
@buster's cognitive bias cheat sheet is also a phenomenal resource:…

And here's 4 tips from a world class physician on how to make better decisions:…
• Habits are freeing up more willpower ✅
• You're learning how to learn enabling you to retain more knowledge & level up your talent stack (h/t to @WesternMastery by way of @ScottAdamsSays) ✅
• You're improving your decision making via mental models & cognitive biases ✅
These are just the tip of the iceberg... Broad, over-arching ideas and principles that will help you have a tremendous life.

What about the fiber that holds it all together?

Things like:
• Gratitude
• Self Awareness
• Increasing Confidence
• Managing Guilt
• Reappraisal
Oh, you thought that was just going to be another tweet storm full of cheap platitudes you saw on a motivation poster in your junior high English class?

Top performers didn't get to the top reading motivational posters.

Getting DIALED IN requires you to dig into these things.
Being the best at your job isn't about getting up at 4am, meditating and drinking special coffee.

It's about:
• Asking good questions
• Harnessing the expertise of other people
• Embracing Conflict
• Tension is an opportunity
• Productivity Systems

And much more.
These are things I've been studying and applying (I'm a practitioner above all) for the last 10 years. It's time I get this stuff out of my head and into your hands.

If that interests you, get on the list:

More coming soon. You'll be the first to know.
