USA v Manafort Witness List

documentcloud.org/documents/4620…
#6 Devine, Tad
Why is @SenSanders 2016 Campaign Sr. Strategist a witness for the prosecution in USA v. Manafort?
Devine (blue) and Manafort (red) go way back. For now, let’s say they knew each other for at least a decade before the election.

Here they are, in March 2006 in some conference room with nice enough looking folks posing for the worst corporate holiday card you have ever seen.
Nothing wrong with two political operatives, while ostensibly opposite in ideology, collaborating...

WAIT

WHO IS THAT ON THE FAR RIGHT?

Konstantin Kilimnik
AKA
Person A
AKA
Mr. GRU 2 U

The “translator” who has “handled” Manafort’s duty to Russia.
#9 Gates, Richard

Manafort and Gates have been quite the dynamic duo since pairing up in 2006.

Very important
know their history
know their plan for our future.

Manafort and Gates helped “elect” a RUSSIAN PUPPET PRESIDENT to Ukraine in 2010.

After four years in power, Yanukovych was deposed by popular uprising and fled the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv during the night of Feb 21 2014.

#Euromaidan

He fled to Russia.

He is still there.
Viktor Yanukovych was used as a Kremlin tool to distance Ukraine from the West, specifically, moving away from EU talks and increasing reliance on Russian energy.

It only took four years to get to here.
Putin created and used the chaos of 2014 to invade Crimea, and Ukraine is still occupied today.
Back to our two world builders, Manafort and Gates.

Manafort has been in the game a long time. The longer you are in the more you become them, and they become you.

Your soul is their soul, their money is your money.

Gates, not so much.

He crapped out and sang like a bird.
As a result, Gates is still permitted to shower alone and unsupervised.
His dad taught him everything he knows.

Can you see the resemblance?
This is not the end. This is the beginning.

USA v. Manafort is the undercard

the title fight is USA v. Transnational Organized Crime

Two questions.

Where is the link to transnational organized crime?

Why is Kilimnik, a member of Russia’s largest intel agency, the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (GRU), hanging around with U.S. political operatives like Manafort and Devine?

A beautiful and wise woman, no doubt. As are most mothers of successful boys.

And here she is on the wedding day of her dear Alex. She looks proud, and she should be. He did very well.
He married Eva Khan.

Daughter of German Khan.

The Russian billionaire oligarch and Alfa Group co-founder.
The Once and Future Russian.

Алекс would have made a fine oligarch.

What a shame Mueller had to castrate the wolf in his prime.

Enough about Alex.

I found where the money came from.

All of it.

Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury.
Robert was so excited to attend the innaguration of @realDonaldTrump, who can blame him for sharing on @Twitter.

What did you and your old chap Robert Lighthizer talk about?

And why did you delete those tweets documenting your time with @USTradeRep and @SecretaryRoss?
I was hoping to find some ties to money laundering in @RobertJenrick’s past but alas, nothing.

Unless there is a way to launder money while serving as managing director for an international auction house known for selling items of ambiguous value for exorbitant sums of cash.

🤔
No shortage of methods to move this dark money around.

But where did it all come from?

Where did Russia get all of this money?

Enough capital and resources to change the world, make a president, and leverage or threaten enough people to keep it all quiet for this long.
Stay tuned.
A soft-power network.

@lukeharding1968 story from @guardian spotlighting yet another oligarch dispatched to aid the Trump campaign in 2016.

theguardian.com/us-news/2018/s…
On one hand, our adversary has a powerful network of international businessmen at their disposal. Each with their own multi-billion dollar private empire, and US/UK Passport.
These are made men.

Assets stripped from the Russian state during and after the collapse of the USSR were redirected to VIPs close to the center of power.

The oligarchs took everything and played poker with the chips while Russian people starved.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Made_man
How did this happen?

The abrupt collapse of the Soviet Union left Russia literally broken and lost.

A mighty empire spanning across Eurasia fell apart.

Russia had to catch up with the world, fast.
The only people who knew anything about free enterprise in Russia were the black marketeers running underground capitalistic business in (Soviet) communist times.

To run an illegal business you need protection.

The Russians call it крыша (krysha), meaning “roof”.
Org crime provided крыша to businesses in Russia the same way the Mafia did here in America. You pay a regular fee, we keep the cops and hooligans out of your hair. Or else.

Whatever. Cost of doing business, right? Besides, many of them are underpaid cops and the system works.
So very slowly and then all at once, the underground business world fused with the government (who had yet to remove themselves from economic planning) and with the special police structures to assemble something that could compete on the world stage.
Russia and China are modern day leviathans

Iron triangles backed by the state security apparatus

Iron triangle = (P)olitical-(C)riminal nexus integrated with the soft-power network of (B)usiness leaders.

P - selective enforcement of laws against rivals of C & B
C - protection and aggression towards enemies of P & B
B - investment/return funds of P & C, capture other Bs
Exceptional article in March 2019 issue of @TheAtlantic by @FranklinFoer on the recent history (1989-2019) and current status of #kleptocracy in #Russia, and how it was exported like a Trojan Horse into the all too eager #US financial system.
